    Fuel prices

Buy an electric, self-charging hybrid, PHEV or ICE, whatever you want, but do more research than Grendel has before you do. I have just bought a PHEV with a real world range of 50 miles. I can charge at home, drive to work on pure electric, charge on my employer's charging network and drive home...

There is a new estate of about 30 houses being built by a housing association near where i live, and they don't have solar panels on their rooves. They should be forced to do so in this day and age.

OK, when China is buying up vast tracts of land in Africa to exploit the mineral resources, they need to be investing in renewable energy schemes there at the same time. Would that work, do you think?

    Women's Euros 2022

It was only by accident - they thought EastEnders would be on!! But seriously, that is a good figure. I didn't watch a lot of it, but i thought the standard was really high. And that winning goal was technically as good as you'll see in the men's game. Still one thing that troubles me is how...

"Water required in producing bottles and other parts of production and delivery" will essentially be equivalent to any packaged milk. They factor the amount of water grass consumes in growing into the consumption to produce milk? And yet oats seemingly don't need any water to grow if Tony's...

Thanks for posting that. LG. Those look like the same "British Steel" houses that are on Charter Avenue estate in Canley. Not the "tin shacks" that were mentioned on here the other day. You'll notice from some of the houses that are left in that video that they have had cladding applied to...

The per capita figures are a bit misleading - China looks pretty low on that measure, compared to USA. But when you look at the absolute quantity, China's contribution is an eye-watering 30% of the global total (12 gigatons). We contribute 0.96% (which is admittedly quite a lot for our piddling...

It takes 6,098 litres of water to produce 1 litre of almond milk. 80% of the entire world's almonds are grown in California, and using that much water to fuel a fad is unsustainable for cities like LA and San Diego.

Sadly, Reg, I agree with you. Don't forget India too - they are forecast to exceed the Chinese population in November this year, their power generation is 70% from coal, and their rate of building is generating HUGE amounts of CO2 from concrete production (as is China). Our contribution to...

Whoever is in charge of them should have done a risk assessment and stopped them using petrol powered machinery at the moment due to the risk of sparks starting a grass fire

That is a plausible theory - the in-vessel composting plants that have appeared at recycling centres and landfills are frequently going up in smoke due to spontaneous combustion from the intense heat generated by the composting process. The embankment near the Toll Bar will be a stray fag-end...

Lucky to be WFH in Evesham again. Currently 24C (in the shade) and 56% humidity outside (humidity was <30% yesterday, so it could feel a bit stickier today). 26.5C inside. Feels noticeably hotter than this time yesterday, presumably as it didn't cool to below 20C overnight.
