Even worse is the realisation that he earns £300k a year from the BBC for it. All he does is read out tweets!

    Wasps downward spiral...

Not exactly the same situation, all the loans etc the Council had in ACL, the £14m or so debt that was a big sticking point, have been paid back by Wasps, it would be a clean slate in that sense. Council surely won't want to get back into running ACL, and no 'out of town' owner is going to try...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Yes and they're not likely to do that if those sports don't have their house in order. As we saw with several airlines the government were not making handouts on demand but expected them to explore every other avenue of possible financing first.

Maybe in a month or month and a half. It's usually around end of October or early November, depends on the sign off, but that will be the for the 12 months to June-20. The last set in March were the half year, 6 months up to Dec-19.

Exactly, they need their own house in order before asking for public money. They're already getting £5.3m in public funds, the furlough scheme, they had £12m in CVC money. Derek Richardson took this punt, he has to address costs first or he puts his hand in his pocket, that's the choice, the...

Interesting to see Exeter Chiefs chairman Tony Rowe is quoting monthly losses for Exeter of £1m since lockdown. Amazing to think that's almost the same as Wasps monthly losses before lockdown.

    New Kit

Looks modern and fresh even with the nod to the 90s (loved that kit). Personally don't like the fade effect in kits, never sure which bit to look at, much prefer solid block colours. Good shade of blue though, and still better than anything by Nike or puma.

Haskell / ACL / Trust / CCFC Administration

I just think although CCFC always had the option, they didn't want the debt in ACL, but that's a pricing issue, nothing more, nothing to do with bankrupting charities or whatever other hyperbole chucked about on social media. Ok sure Wasps paid it and took the risk - but we can ask now in...

Haskell / ACL / Trust / CCFC Administration

Is it quite back to 2014 and square one though? The landscape is quite a bit different. As the Council got their money out, the £14m Council/Yorkshire bank loan isn't in the equation anymore, that hurdle is gone. Plus any potential outside buyers are not now looking at the unproven potential of...

    Boddy Update

Aston Villa fan, CEO of Wasps sports and ACL business. He was just in charge of the Rugby side before Stuart Cain jumped ship and they merged the roles.

    Wasps Statement

Yes thought this ever since Wasps went after the academy site. That was backed by the Council as well. They know we make fuck all from the stadium and the academy was our lifeline at the time. All about pressure. Bet they never banked on locking us out and us winning the league.

    Protest at Wasps first game

Far too many seeing Wasps as here to stay and that people should just accept it when in reality businesses fail, change priorities, run out of cash, and there is absolute nothing special about London Wasps rugby club, quite the opposite. Personally I don't see protests to the Council having much...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Seems very similar to the situation with Brighton and their eventual tie up with the University of Brighton on the land at Falmer. If we get close to that it's a very good outcome. I thought Falmer was a bit limited in terms of transportation when we played there few seasons back, they manage a...

    Transfer Rumour Marcel Hilsner

Interesting one, looks like another player with a promising young career that didn't quite work out yet and a bit of a punt with not a lot of risk.

Time to draw a line ?

Yeah if we're going to blame them when things go wrong then we have to give some credit when things go right, it can't be one or the other. Laughable when people say the current situation is in spite of the board and owners, as if MR somehow appeared at Ryton by accident.

They pay back £200 in that scenario. Their commitment is to repay in full £35m in May 2022, the amount raised by the bond scheme, and 6.5% (£2.275m) each year in interest payments to the bond holders until then.

    Ricoh - Gut Feeling

When we're playing at the Ricoh and ACL/Wasps goes bust mid-season how do we fulfill our fixtures? Do they leave us a key for the turnstiles or something?

The RFU are signalling a significant reduction in central income to clubs, the last deal signed in 2016 guaranteed £29m per year for 4 years income distribution to Premiership Rugby clubs that produce English qualifying players and England internationals. That deal is based on RFU income that...
