    Ruben Lameiras

Interesting choice of URL, and doesn’t exactly sell us (as if the fifth biggest club in Portugal are bigger than us, pah), that aside: https://www.tugascout.com/news/2021/1/14/the-rise-of-ruben-lameiras-from-coventry-city-and-plymouth-argyle-to-the-fifth-biggest-club-in-portugal

Derby unable to pay players wages

I don’t get this at all. How does getting wages paid directly from a third party work? What’s to stop any club from saying to their sponsors “don’t sponsor us, just pay for someone’s wages” if it’s that simple to circumvent the FFP rules?

    Captaincy?

You can all give them to me and I’ll test them for you. Dirty job, but someone’s got to do it...

    Captaincy?

Let’s hope he doesn’t lead by example then!

You’re gonna have to narrow it down a bit mate (y)

    Josh Reid set to sign

Or unless we already know that Walsh is running his contract down with a view to leaving in the summer, so we thought we’d try a cheeky ‘take it or he leaves on a free anyway’ type of deal. Was an interesting article in the Athletic about transfers and how everyone breaks the tapping up rule...

    Josh Reid set to sign

Possibly not us, unless we’re looking towards the summer and replacing Hamer (who we bought to replace Walsh) with Walsh. My head hurts. We’ve also just got James (with a view to a permanent deal) so midfield isn’t top priority at this moment in time wouldn’t have thought. But who knows?

Yeah, for all his faults it’s not his fault we’ve conceded 2 goals.

Referee has been quite good imo (haven’t been reading the thread so no idea what the general view is). Credit when it’s due.

Why can’t we do that. Literally the only difference between us and a mid table side is the ability to get the ball in the fucking net.

    Tonight’s games

I agree, but that’s football. As the cliche goes, miss your chances at this level and get punished. I still feel, overall, more confident in our ability to stay up than I did at the start of the season mind. 🤞

    Tonight’s games

90+7 wasn’t it? Was chatting with Forest mate at the time who apologised and said we should’ve won. Which really helped...

    Tonight’s games

Ha, reading it back a day later it sounds wrong. What I meant was I don’t think they will be anywhere near the bottom 3 at the end of the season, which is when it (usually) counts. I think they’ve turned a corner and will end up comfortably above us. Unfortunately.

    Tonight’s games

Forest are not a competitor for relegation. No way.

    January transfer window

Imagine being able to spend >£3m on a development player who it seems might not even get into their team. They really are in a different league to us financially.

    Rangers interested in Hamer

Yeah sure, but the question was why would he want to play for Rangers (as if there was no possible reason) and that was a list of possible reasons. Not saying he does want to play for them, but if a decent offer came in he’d have a decision to make for sure.

    Rangers interested in Hamer

Yeah, I mean as much as we can convince ourselves that in his place we’d stay at Cov, realistically it would depend on whether they offer us enough cash and if they did surely he’d be out the door. Obviously hope not.

    Rangers interested in Hamer

Champions League? Winning some silverware? Wage rise / signing on fee? Being at one of the top clubs in their league. Can think of a few reasons why he might be tempted, obviously with my Sky Blue specs on I disagree with them all, but then I’m not him or his agent.

    Signings Incoming......

And if there was an infinite number, in at least one of them he’d literally be in a taxi with Robins. On the other hand, in another one he’d be married to him. I think I have just disproven the infinite universes hypothesis.
