    Things that annoy you

people who want me to sponsor them to go somewhere exotic to raise money for charity. I had a colleague who went to walk the Great Wall of China in aid of Myton Hospice. NO - FUCK OFF! If you want to do something to raise money for such a worthy cause, don't ask me to pay for it! Cycle to John...

What's everyone watching while on 'lockdown'?

Has Hugh Laurie's wife/girlfriend put in an appearance - she's luuurrvvley! But i enjoyed the programme in many other ways, too!!

    Coronavirus

It is quite likely that it will become seasonal, like flu, and there will probably be a vaccine for the most prevalent isolate. But don't forget, even with a tri-valent vaccine (tetra-valent in children), flu still kills upwards of 20,000 people a year. In England.

What's everyone watching while on 'lockdown'?

Watched the first 3 (?) series of The Affair (produced by Showtime) via Kodi on Amazon Firestick. Was quite gripping, and Ruth Wilson was at her sexy best. Anyone know if it is available on Netflix or Prime, as the Kodi system seems to have been locked down and i can't get to it anymore. Thanks!

    Coronavirus

Thanks for the rant, but can i refer you to the last line of my post, which said "I think that is maybe what they were originally suggesting with the herd immunity theory, but it seems now as though more people might be more at risk than they originally thought." Implication being that it...

    Coronavirus

It would appear from what is known about acquired immunity to other types of coronavirus (four of them cause about 15% of common colds between them) that the immunity is often short-lived (6 to 12 months as a best guess), whereas chickenpox for the vast majority of people confers life-long...

    Coronavirus

Absolutely spot-on, Otis! SBT post of the year so far. Herd immunity relies on the herd being allowed to catch (or at least be exposed to) the little bastard at some point. it MAY be that all of us who have had any sort of symptoms in the past 6 weeks or so and who are now compliantly staying...

    New Labour Leader

True - on both counts! But there is probably a perceived difference if you're a gobby male Old Etonian!

Do you think we will learn after this is all over?

As if turning your arsehole inside out with norovirus isn't enough to contend with, now there's this. Be the Black Death next year, you mark my words!!

    How's Everyone Getting On ?

My mum's window cleaner came to do hers last week, at 89 (surprised he can get up the ladder!). He wanted exact money only - she left it on the doormat and retreated inside. You can't catch it through a closed window - get back to it BBR, you lazy git!

    New Labour Leader

I think she was rash in going for the leadership - she clearly hasn't got enough years in Parliament under her belt to do that. But i hope it's not because people don't like the way she comes across - gobby Brummy women deserve as much of a chance as anyone. Although sometimes i think she might...

Do you think we will learn after this is all over?

You'll never get me on a cruise ship after this bollocks - hated the idea to start with!

    How's Everyone Getting On ?

We hear a lot about the NHS frontline not getting access to facemasks, etc, but the majority of them are protected, i think. PHE guidance for pharmacists in the NHS needing to wear a surgical mask when unable to keep the 2m separation is an indication of the potential risk your wife faces...

    New Labour Leader

Respectfully, I don't recall ever saying anything on here about who i favour, Labour party or otherwise. You must have confused me with someone else. FWIW, there has been no leader of the Labour party worthy of my vote since John Smith died before his time. Bliar undermined the party's socialist...

    How's Everyone Getting On ?

Funny you mentioning the toothache thing. I've had a couple of days when my chest was a bit tight, but all the teeth in my bottom jaw ached really badly for about a day. But that has been it - i wonder if that's what they mean by mild symptoms. Not heard of the teeth one before. Will definitely...

I hope you all listened to Queenie
