The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Is it? ECB announces fresh stimulus as eurozone economy falters The European Central Bank has announced a fresh stimulus package in an attempt to prevent the fragile eurozone economy from grinding to a halt, with an interest rate cut and plans to pump €20bn (£19bn) a month into the financial...

I could say the same about Brexit! That may well be the case but it is irrelevant as to whether there should be a referndum on the question or not. Which was Jeremy Corbyn, until you turned it into another EU referendum thread!

Since they have no intention of honouring any result with which they disagree it is absolutely pointless holding one.

I'm saying it would be a total irrelevance to most people as witnessed by the low turnout in the recent EU election.

I ignore any callers unless I'm expecting them and especially don't shout anything to confirm I'm at home.

It wouldn't be a genuine referendum because the current parliament has no intention of leaving the EU whatever the result is as they have already demonstrated.

You're assuming people will vote the same way in a general election as they would in a referendum, I'm not.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'd have thought it was far more embarrasing that more than three years after voting to leave the EU Britain is still a fully paid up member of it?

    Jeremy corbyn

No, you want a referendum because you assume you'll win it and you don't want an election because you assume you'll lose it.
  16. dutchman

    Jeremy corbyn

Only because you assume you'll win it and if you don't you'll find some mechanism or other to sidestep the legislation just as the Dutch and French governments did when the vote went against them.

    Jeremy corbyn

Your side has never accepted the result of the first referendum so there's no reason to think you would accept the result of a second if it went against you.

The 'not so obvious' hot babes thread!

We had some fun with Daly and McCall one night. We played this game in the Digital Spy forum where we took a drink every time one of them mentioned 'Blackpool' during the show. McCall - who'd clearly had a few drinks herself - got wind of this and mentioned us during the show. We pissed...
