Is it time to revert to the original words of the Sky Blue song - 'Proud Posh or Cobblers' rather than the spurious 'Tottenham or Chelsea' (or whatever) as both Peterborough and Northampton are in the league we aspire to?
In the games where VAR technology is used (rugby, cricket, tennis) there are natural breaks to allow for any necessary inspection. The only time this happens in football is when the referee is considering what action to take after they've blown for a foul or when a penalty has been given. At all...
As per my recent posting, 2 points per game from now on yields 83 points and this season that should be enough for automatic promotion. Continuing our current beat rate yields 77 points and that's almost certainly a play-off spot. So just need to up our game a little. PUSB.
I expected the regulars to have a bit of fun with the numbers, but I think it's telling us that we need to up our rate to 2 points per game if we want automatic promotion. Last year Portsmouth, Plymouth and Doncaster were way ahead of the rest. 83 points should do it.
We have 47 points from 28 games. At that rate we'll end up with 77 points. At 2 points per remaining game we'll end up with 83 points. Last year the teams that won promotion from League 2 scored 85 to 87 points. The play-off teams scored 70 to 77 points; the team winning the play-offs...
We may only have scored 26 goals in all 21 matches this season, but they've come from 13 different players. It would be good to think that this is an alternative approach to the '30 goals a season striker' we crave. You never know where (or when) the next goal is coming from!
I raised this thread as a comment on the supporters, not the team. I just don't understand why a true supporter would stay away when things are not going well but go along when they're OK. That's not how you would behave towards an individual in need of support.
In my 65 years of supporting the City, I can't remember a worse league result than last night. However, my reaction is not to whinge, whine and despair, but to get behind the team. Anyone who has played sport will know that there are times that things just don't go for you - that's when you most...
Interesting to note that, of the pre-season favourites, only Exeter have started strongly. Swindon, Mansfield, Lincoln and Luton are all just behind us. Looks like they're having the same 'settling down' problems that we are. Still optimistic.
Apologies if this topic has been done to death, but does anyone know whether the lack of a decent Live Text this season is due to technology issues, contractual issues or business considerations?
'every 20 years' just means 3 promotions (1959, 1964 & 1967) during the 60 plus years I've been supporting them. 'every 21 years' to be precise. But it's been a long wait.
I’ve supported the Sky Blues through thick and thin for over 60 years. I’m not a regular contributor to this forum but allow me to say that those of you who aren’t going to watch the Sky Blues ‘on principle’ are cutting off your noses to spite your faces. Promotion seasons don’t come around very...
