Do people actually enjoy the taste of whiskey

Was in Ely, Cambs, with some friends a couple of weeks ago, and a round of drinks in a Greene King pub, consisting of 2 pints of decent real ale, a large glass of malbec and a poncey G&T cost me fucking £25.40. Looked their "gin menu" and they were £7 for a single and £11 a double! The sooner we...

The figure amounting to State Aid will be decided by the European Commission. Anyone else's opinion is pure guesswork, I'm afraid.

    Get them on the Radio

The correct place for this discussion was the meeting arranged for all parties in the Houses of Parliament by the then Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and Kenilworth MP Jeremy Wright. But the fucking council declined to send a single elected member, let alone the Leader...

Do people actually enjoy the taste of whiskey

Incidentally, as there are a few aficionados chipping in, my prize possession is a limited edition 15yo Auchentoshan that the missus bought for me. It's a lowland distillery but owned by Bowmore, one of the premier distillers on Islay. Smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth! (and 47%!!)

Do people actually enjoy the taste of whiskey

It's weird - the "experts" say that the amount of intoxication, headaches, hangovers, etc. are dependent solely on the quantity of actual alcohol consumed (i.e. 1 unit = 10ml of pure alcohol). Pretty much anyone you talk to who drinks will tell you this is complete bollocks - mixing your drinks...

True, but from the article that was linked, it looks like the national courts are obliged to execute the decision made by the EC. And the repayment would be down to the party that benefitted (Wasps), as well as payment to third parties who have been damaged financially (CCFC).

"BBC Sport have approached West Midlands Police and Southend United for a comment about the allegations" Nowt about us.

It is down to the EC* to determine what the level of illegal State Aid is judged as. Until they make their decision, the notion that it will be £27m or tuppence-ha'penny is simply gossip. It isn't what they paid for it, it's what they DIDN'T! *assuming we stay within their jurisdiction after Brexit

You were advocating defacing the stadium of an honest decent football club who have gone out of their way to host us, thereby exhibiting the same twattish behaviour. It's just unnecessary and will be divisive to Bluenoses.

    Static caravan

The question for us would be "How many holidays can we buy for the next x years with the amount we'd need to spend on *any* holiday home/caravan/camper van, and feel obliged to holiday in every year?" Answer: "Too many to justify the capital outlay". But that's just us!

I've just been to Krakow, and one of the locations for Schindler's List is a labour camp called Plaszow on the outskirts of the city. It has essentially been left to nature after the Nazis destroyed it towards the end of the war, but it still looks better than Wheels!

Is that cabin fever, Red? People who didn't realise what it would be like cooped up with 5000 others, and are heartily sick of the experience??

    Yesterday

I think the biggest cheer of the day was when he had been treating their left back on our side of the pitch, so he had to leave the pitch and walk all the way round via the empty Tilton Road stand, only for another one of their players to go down on half-way near the dugout, so he had to puff...

    Player ratings - Southend

Mason was very good yesterday, but i wouldn't give him more than an 8 because of a couple of hospital balls he gave, and knocking it about across the penalty area instead of getting rid (which made Rose look worse than he actually was!). I think Mason would be really powerful as a genuine...

Me and the missus went (first time she's been since Wembley, but only a fan by association), and have to say we enjoyed it. Parked at Wheels, but may try on-street next time as the reports seem pretty good. Few minutes' walk via Garrison Road and Tilton Road, picked tickets up from the Kop...

Dunno - that was an odd one. Do you have to be in the field of play to take a throw-in?? The stewards did a better job as ball-boys than most of the hopeless ball-boys we seem to appoint!
