Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield United Match Thread - Saturday 23rd Nov

Looks like a box midfield to me behind bassette as the lone striker.

Will Doug King lose any integrity he has left?

Not sure I buy the 'he did a bad job at Everton line' the club was an absolute basket case and still is. He didn't excel at the job no. But the team Lampard had was woeful and he still managed to just keep them in the league. His record isn't that much worse than Benetiz at Everton who I'm...

Tbf I actually think that suits our current midfield options better anyway.

    Transfer Rumour Norman Bassette

With Wright injured he is potentially going to be getting a lot of came time over the busiest part of the season for us. Looks like he could be very good once the first goal goes in

Yeah maybe slightly strongly worded, think it was indicative of where we were at as a club (he wasn't he only player and he gave it his best which is all you can ask for)

I don't think he did it very much felt like needs must. Fair play to him he's better than 99% of people but he never showed anything worth a place in a league one team and I don't think it's insulting to say that tbf.

Right who's the next manager then?

Some of his teams at Everton were a good watch. It's functional football. The equivalent success isn't a trophy we don't compete in. It would be promotion in any form. If we play 'boring football' and go up that's what we can hope for. Better than boring football and losing which is what we...

On This Day 10 Years Ago

Jack Finch came through the academy made over 10 appearances that year can't remember exactly how many. He was dog shit, and I know he ended up at Brackley town a couple years after us I imagine he didn't go much higher than that after either.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It used to be that. It no longer is. You can go to uni with pretty much any education or background, you can do a course that is about 5 hours a week and come out with a degree. I don't look at people that to to uni now and say okay you must have something about you, if anything more and more...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is the fundamental issue. Jobs that 'require degrees' when in actual fact they just need a better hiring system. Get rid of pointless degrees, shrink the size of universities and their offerings, and actually have a higher education system that's worthwhile rather than saddling young...

David Coote (Former Premier League referee)

It's interesting, the referees I have spoken to have said Klopp on the pitch during a match is a nightmare. But one of the nicest managers there is once the game is over.

Match Thread Supporter's Meeting with Doug King Match Thread

Agree with this and it's a shame this question wasn't able to be put to him, considering it was a well known rumour at the time. However, King did say he had been considering the matter for a few weeks or a while so does just about line up.

Isn't it as simple as sky specifically asking about Lampard... I'm sure if he was asked about MMJ applying he would say yes too don't worry 😉

Well done for avoiding the point. I have given you praise previously for getting things right, but you do come out with bollocks sometimes and it's always negative.

You are right you didn't say the word strike specifically. You said and I quote 'Refused to play' You said Dovin was injured, why didn't you say Sheaf was injured, if we trust both Carr and Sheaf he was touch and go all the way up to the game, so it wasn't a last minute decision.

Well that's a a bending of the words he said. He gave praise to Rhys Carr and Boateng but said that they needed an experienced tactician to oversee them. Dempster and Delaney on the other hand might be at risk.

Is this the same source that said that Sheaf was on strike?
