Very good point in the end. They showed some heart. Rudoni didn't have the best of games but great header, involved in the first and worked extremely hard tracking back.
Not sure why Thomas-Asante is being singled out. At least he is challenging for the ball and pressing. Wright is being out muscled every time. There are occasions when he should get his body between the ball and defender and he doesn't. Noone is able to hold onto the ball in the attacking 3rd...
Hopefully it is isn't a condition for a new manager that he has to adopt the coaching team. That will put better candidates off. However, the cost to replace them maybe too much for Doug to consider.
I was very frustrated by Thomas. He could orchestrate the tempo, which he did, extremely slowly. He had acres of space to move into and pull people out of position but instead stood on the ball as if holding out for a 1-0 defeat!
Home defeat against a very poor quality team is not acceptable. That first half was shocking. There is no excuse for the languid tempo. Derby were first to every second ball.
Our subs provided more creativity. Why did Sheaf and Eccles only start to go past players and progress the ball forward...
Well that was absolute garbage. Two poor teams and one wants it more. Why did we start off (and continue) at such a slow pace? No progression, no creativity.
Van Erwijk gets beaten so easily when he presses. Thomas standing on the ball rather than getting it forward. Binks is the only one...
We were awful second half until the second goal. Looked like they were going to equalise. After the second we looked more confident and positive. The spaces they were getting with only 10 men was concerning.
Can't complain with a 3-0 away win though.
