Do you want to discuss boring politics?

GDP is shit. But it’s shit for reasons that are structural and have been the case for 30-50 years. The main growth driver Labour plan on is planning reform. Which they haven’t done yet. Getting excited or distraught over basically rounding errors around the 0% growth we’ve had since 2008 is a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

They’re too secret. I did it once. Made a van hire company on Foleshill Road built a planter they’ve never once used in a decade of being there. Felt great. Walked past: there’s my impact on the world. Fucking pointless. They don’t want it so never put plants in it. I was just some bored...

We would have been better off with Robins

Like the family zone decisions and the ticket price decisions? I think he wants people to like him and he said he was surprised by the negative reactions to the decision didn’t he?

We would have been better off with Robins

I think it was as soon as King took over. How common is it for owners to change and the manager not?

We would have been better off with Robins

Crowd at Derby was pretty grumpy IIRC, I do wonder if he turned up and misread the temperature.

There’s more trees! I believe in green middles, street trees, parks, gardens, etc. I’m not convinced of the ecological benefit of a farmers field or quarry or whatever over that particularly. I’d much rather we insisted on building developments with green space built in that people can actually...

It is and a lot of it is doing what you just did with trees when your real problem was you don’t like a decision your democratically elected officials made. Planning isn’t a backup ballot box. And just not liking something shouldn’t allow you to hold it up for years and quadruple the cost.

We would have been better off with Robins

Not to start all this again but that’s your opinion. We’d lost one after a reasonable run of six games 14 matches into a brand new setup and management team.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We need to build a lot more than houses. I don’t believe we should preserve the country in aspic for no reason no matter how much nostalgia it offends, no. The fact shit like the train station and the lower precinct cafe are listed is a joke tbh. We are far too over protective of the status quo...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Do “unused” roads and “unused” pavements piss you off too? We’re building a network. Or we would be if people like you didn’t bitch and moan at every step. If you don’t want to use it, don’t. But other people will. Just like all the other “unused” cycle lanes because they’re not unused they’re...

Oh I get it. “I’ll only let you build if it’s houses (though really not that either lol)” Nah fuck off, we’ve had 50 years of that. You don’t get to hold everyone else hostage any more.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don’t think anyone claimed it would happen immediately. Economies are oil tankers they don’t turn on a dime. The first 6-12 months are basically the previous lots hangover.

But the temporary manager was a requirement of changing the permanent one so has to be priced into the decision. Ultimately what will matter is where we are end of next season. But King said that he took the decision how and when he did because of immediate results so it’s fair to question that.

Well I’m not sure if the locals wanted them removing and replacing with 30% more trees they would. Funding comes in pots for this sort of stuff. You can’t just choose to spend it on social care. You’re just flailing around trying to find something to stop things ever being built.

We would have been better off with Robins

I think above a Swansea. And I think the celeb manager puts us top of that pile. I’m not sure if Leeds are still a parachute club but forgot about them so them too if not. To be clear this is in terms of whether other teams will try a bit harder against us. Not some “big club o meter”

Doesnt mean much. What changes would you have expected to filter through to growth by now?

We would have been better off with Robins

I think we are. Outside of the parachute clubs it’s maybe Sunderland and then who? In terms of crowd, expectation and general media attention. I think people want to beat Plymouth a bit more because of Rooney too. Just something about getting one over on a name.

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Dec

Because he’s better than them. Or at least given a chance ten yards from goal I’d rather it fell to Simms than Bassette or BTA and that’s the ultimate test of a striker IMO.
