Chelsea barely got out of first gear and did the minimum required to win the match. A Chelsea team playing at full potential would have put 5 or 6 past us
It tells me without watching the highlights that the winning team have scored from 30 yards out and the losing team have squandered several 1 on 1s and/or open goals.
I agree with that selection, though I doubt Torp will be considered just yet.
Simms occupies the defence far more than Godden and is creating space others are exploiting. Hopefully he can start to score a few soon.
What would represent us playing a 2nd string this weekend? We have 16/17 players rotating in and out of the team, plus 3 or 4 regularly unused on the bench. Do we have a truly 2nd string line up?
I understand the referees report mentions head contact and nothing regarding verbals. If it can proved that no head contact was initiated by Kitching he should be cleared.
We always have 2 empty seats next to us in block 29 but they’re never available to buy. I guess people have bought season tickets and are moving round to singer’s corner.
All of those are very fair points, but I just don’t get the aversion to subbing him off, particularly when in your words the game is ‘passing him by’.
Until we see Simms and Wright play together we’re never going to know if it will work.
