All of those are very fair points, but I just don’t get the aversion to subbing him off, particularly when in your words the game is ‘passing him by’. Until we see Simms and Wright play together we’re never going to know if it will work.

Surely you have to look at the value of the loan players we released? Doyle, McNally and Norton-Cuffy would cost upwards of £15m.
