    Season Tickets!!!

A little before the license was agreed, I was speaking to a member of the club's commercial department who relayed to me that FG's demands were 'completely unsustainable' for the club moving forward.

    Season Tickets!!!

Well this is the thing really. Granted he's invested in pitches at the training ground but if he's not willing to make a similar commitment in terms of financial investment as the supporters have been essentially forced to, then what's the point in him being here.

    Season Tickets!!!

I doubt he wants to be shouldering millions worth of losses per season either. Fundamentally his initial priority will be ensuring that the club can more or less operate self-sufficiently through maximising commercial, sponsorship and ticketing revenue as well as by facilitating player sales...

    Season Tickets!!!

Unlikely as those increases have in part been put in place to mitigate the likely horrendous commercial agreement that is in place with FG as well as to ensure operating costs are covered as much as possible. The budget is likely to increase but not by much.

    Incoming - Tom Costello

Ridiculous post. By your logic long term contracts should be handed out to every signing then?

    Josh Reid back to Scotland?

Will be interesting to see what the club's strategy with the U23s is this season. With Reid going that's the 9th U23 player to depart this summer already. I presume Rus, Tavares and possibly Tyler will be loaned out and they'll try to move Cashman on permanently, of failing that on loan.

    Incoming - Tom Costello

Was signed in the summer of 21-22 so while we were in the Championship. Another bizarre 3 year contract that was freely handed out.

    Hamer

I don't really understand your point? It's entirely irrelevant if they're unhappy with Leicester's valuation. They have zero say.
  9. K

    Hamer

Granted they've spent beyond their means but in reality they'll be fine. 7 players on first team contracts have already been moved on upon expiry of their contract/loan and Barnes and Maddison will soon follow for significant fees. There's also doubts on whether Jonny Evans will renew his...

    Hamer

I wouldn't get too hung up on the figures quoted on this forum. Frankly I don't believe them. It's more likely DK has implemented a set-in-stone wage cap which he feels shouldn't be breached. Similar to SISU I suspect DK will be strict on budget. His target quite clearly is to ensure the club...

    Hamer

Yeah the building is incredibly tired and the facilities are comparable to an average L1 club. Great the pitches are being done but the whole site needs a revamp over the coming years.

    Hamer

We're not a tiny backwater club, and you'll do well to find a post where I've ever even made reference to that, my point is we hardly stand out against the competition in the Championship and our biggest achilles heal is that 70-80% of the league are in a position where they can offer higher...

    Hamer

It really depends doesn't it on the player and their own ambitions and circumstance doesn't it? And fundamentally what they deem is a desirable trait when joining a club. Robins is undoubtedly a draw, especially on the loan front/for young players, but looking at it objectively there's far more...

    Hamer

Issue is, this is a little bit like comparing apples and oranges. Frankly, it was easier to recruit in L1/L2 as most of the signings were low cost by large and even with all of the off field issues the club was still one of the more attractive propositions in each respective league. The...

    Transfer Rumour Sean Maguire incoming

Desperation, given the players out at the time and the lack of availability of players during the January window - unless you're willing to spend above market rate, which we aren't/weren't in a position to do. Apparently Maguire was popular and a pretty positive influence around the dressing...

    Hamer

I don't believe Boddy is totally happy under the new regime.

How optimistic are you feeling about next season?

Impossible to predict until the window is over as it entirely depends on who we bring in. But if both Hamer and Gyokeres do indeed depart I very much doubt we'll finish in the top half of the table.
  18. K

    Gyokeres

I'd imagine that's probably because logistically they must be a nightmare. Getting the buy-in of all parties involved would be incredibly difficult. Typical transfers are arduous enough.
  19. K

    Gyokeres

I don't think it really works unless they're players that have been properly scouted and are preferred by our recruitment department. I'd be conscious about replicating the Bournemouth/Wilson scenario where we just ended up receiving dregs that were nowhere near good enough.

    Tom O'Connor Wrexham

If we knew about all the failures every single window the majority of the fanbase would lose their marbles. Clubs of our stature very rarely are successful in acquiring their first or even second choice targets. It happens every single window.
