    Genius insight as ever.

As a business owner, the notion that acquiring new business is harder than retaining existing customers isn't just a rule of thumb, it's fact.

It's really not incorrect to assume that at all. The majority on the waiting list will likely follow suit and not bother because the premise upon which they joined said list was that the boxes would be roughly in or around the previous price.

Well it categorically is because it's considerably harder and more expensive to acquire a new customer than it is retaining an existing one.

How are they going to sell all the boxes when the vast majority of existing box holders are outright refusing to renew?

Well it isn't because barely any box holders are renewing. At least by staggering the rises over 2-3 seasons it would've allowed the club to find its ideal price point. As both I and others have said aligning themselves with other Championship clubs straight off the bat doesn't work as there's...

Ultimately it's the club's issue though and as such they should shoulder the blame, not the box holders. Understandably the prices were initially set in order to coax fans back to the Ricoh and plenty took advantage but why wouldn't they? Those were the prices set by the club. Realistically the...

Marco Rus - 2 year contract extension

He's not going from the sixth tier of English football to the Championship. He'll likely get loaned out to a NL club, or L2 at best.

Yeah I'd imagine it'll be much of the same.

Hopefully the club have got an extensive waiting list as I believe there's around 30 box holders protesting so far and refusing to renew. Inevitably there will be more that would've opted out too.

Ah sorry I didn't actually realise they spent in January. Ignore!

It entirely depends on the individual strategy of the club surely? Bournemouth for instance didn't spend anywhere near that, their transfer spend in fact was very modest. Forest's owner is incredibly wealthy and very ambitious so they were always going to throw the kitchen sink at it.

Well exactly, will the customer base comply? I know for a fact at least 30 of the total box holders aren't renewing. There's undoubtedly more as those are just the one's I've directly heard about. Equally, having worked within the region and gaining an understanding the local business landscape...

I think it's the immediacy of the whole situation that's shocked box holders. It's not that the club aren't within their rights to align themselves with the market rate, although I personally have some disagreements on that but can't be bothered to repeat myself again, it's that there's an...

He's been incredibly generous over the years with little if anything demanded in return. He'd be one I'd certainly want to keep onside.

Could be wrong but I suspect it's in regards to the box situation. I know a significant chunk of box holders have banded together with a view to openly complain about the price hike so perhaps something related to that.

    Hamer

Depends on his recovery really. October/November hopefully.

It'll be slightly bigger at best, but the issue remains that DK quite clearly wants to minimise the losses as much as possible and the stadium deal is clearly significantly worse that it was under Wasps. The above strategy doesn't correlate with significantly increasing the playing budget...

Playing devils advocate here but it won't be much more either, Gyokeres and Hamer sales included. If he wants to minimise losses the budget will more or less have to remain the same. Although with much of the deadwood departing I don't think the budget necessarily needs increasing all that...

I'm pretty sceptical of King and he needs to prove his worth but realistically we need to see where the club/squad is at post January at the very least as there's a huge amount of work to be done this year. For me the priorities are: further infrastructure into the training ground, commercial...
