Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

After last nights results we really need to turn the screw on Friday now. A draw will be OK but would be a chance missed, and if you keep failing to take your chances then you deserve what you end up with. A full side including Kitching, Sakomotto and Torp please and everyone on their game. No...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

As always a difficult side to play on their day. We need a full side out and to be better than our last two games. Minimum is not to lose this game. I'd put Bidders in for this one and Kitching back obviously. I'd go one up front and add Kelly in the middle for extra strength in midfield...

Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 17th Feb

should have won at a canter but we laboured and looked disjointed with all the changes to the team sheet. We must get the strongest side out next game. But we won, and we will take that. the pressure will only get worse as the chasing pack come after us. Hope Torp's knock is a minor one, and...

Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 17th Feb

These are the games we must be winning to maintain our challenge. Tavares has not worked, so bring on vanEwik at half time please. Put a rocket up Wright & Simms backsides. Like to see Bidders on too. we need some overlap.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Well deserved tbf. We gave them their goals with sloppy play, something we must stop doing. think we could have won that had we started with Sako and Wright.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

We bossed the game, nullified Plymouth but lack a final penetration. Plymouth's only chances are ones we have given them so we must tighten those small errors up. We need a punch up front, perhaps Wright & Sako will be on very soon to provide the missing link. Lots of effort from Palmer but not...

    Where will we finish

A few good peformances and results, suddenly everyone says we are playoff contenders. So typical on here. Put your money where your mouth is and stick to your prediction early in the season. All this flip flopping! For the record i said playoffs and a chamce of auto's (which clearly changed...

Match Thread Coventry City - Leicester City Match Thread - Saturday 13th Jan

A well deserved win. We pretty much outplayed them again, but a different result this time. had we not started the season so slowly with all the new arrivals think we may have been ocupying their place at the moment. A quick look at the top 6 places resembles something I would have seen in the...

    Transfer targets

We have a good squad with good ack up in most positions the envy of many in this league. What we lack for a push to the playoffs is a strong midfielder with a real presence to turn a game like Hamer could do on his day. But who? And at what price are we willing to pay to get him?

Match Thread Coventry City - Leicester City Match Thread - Saturday 13th Jan

I think we win this. Leicester's form has shown signs of dropping off recently, not particularly result wise but the ease of which they had been winning. i think we can match them easily so a good game that could swing on a mistake or a wonder goal that makes the difference.

How is it equal to have VAR in only some games in the same round?

I think VAR is useful for goal line technology and hand ball decisions only. Aside from that it should not exist. There is way too much messing going on with our game. far too many chief's in the kitchen from 4th referees to var referee panels, it's getting silly. Since when did it become a rule...

    Kyle Mcfadzean

I would not be so dismissive just yet. He is the only centre back who gets his head on everything coming into the box. Kitching & Thomas for the good they have produced have failed to do that on a number of ocassions.

    Next block of games

By the time we play Ipswich, I don't think there will be much spice left in them.

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

We shouldn't underestimate Oxford. I can't see a full rotation of the team, but can see significant changes such as Fazdean, Wilson, Allen, Lati, DeSilva coming in. perhaps Simms and Godden up top. Palmer from the start. Should hve too much for them.

    Next block of games

Can.t beleive the negative aspect on here after the last run of results. I see us getting 11. Somwhere is the result you least expect such as Sheff. Wed. They are all winable with the exception leicester being the toughest on paper. But at home with a full house think we can beat them.

    Boro Ratings

Got to disagree with some comments here. Collins was in no mans land on one occasion and was saved by Thomas on the line. he also failed to come catch a couple of easy corners and punched out when catching was easier. That apart he made some good saves. So a mixed bag. Score: 7 Thomas is...
