    Well done everyone

Like I said above, didn't see anything. Left Cov at 7, in the pub from 9 and everything good natured all day. Sad to hear there were a couple of isolated incidents. The only asb I saw all weekend was on Sunday having a drink in the Rocket near Euston. Wolves fans having a cocaine orgy in the...

    Well done everyone

This issue only ever seems to get mentioned when those who usually never watch the club outside of Coventry go to a Wembley final. 20+ years of everyone standing at every away game and no issues or complaints.

    Well done everyone

Didn't see a single issue all day. A credit to the club and the city.

    League One Playoff Final

Genuine attempt for the ball. Yellow at most.

    Consolidation

This is just not realistic tbh. Keep both, paying them prem wages and also invest in the squad? Where is that money coming from? DK is not a Saudi prince. Our total wage bill is what, about £12 million? Paying Gus and Vik the kind of wages they might command in the PL would swallow around £6-7...

    Middlesbrough

Yep, Leicester can raise £100m from the sale of their major assets quite easily, could make serious reductions to their wage bill, would still have a strong squad and a comparatively large budget. I'm not sure they're quite as much in the shit as people are making out.

How to spend 30 million pounds.

There was a post on here a couple of weeks back suggesting the playoff pot, semis and final, was split between all competing clubs, but that could be wrong looking at that.

How to spend 30 million pounds.

Sunderland and Boro also get a 1/4 share of the 50% of the gate receipts from the final. Huddersfield were said to have made a total of around £800,000 from last season's play offs.

    Seppala and Fisher

Whether there is any arrangement in place for SISU to receive a % of the prize money (no evidence there is) is largely irrelevant to the reason they were there (it won't have been conditional on them turning up 😆). They were there because they would have been invited out of courtesy and they...

    Michael Oliver

Thought he was excellent. Said it during the game a couple of times when Luton players threw themselves to the ground (100% given by EFL refs), but he was having none of it. He's not going to spot everything, but head and shoulders above the dross we have to put up with most weeks.

Leeds and Leicester coming to Coventry

That's how you see the Leicester game, it's not how many others see it. It means a lot to many fans of both sides, ask Leicester fans from south Leicestershire. It's simple geography with fans living and working alongside each other with split families etc. That's the seed of all football rivalries.

Leeds and Leicester coming to Coventry

Leicester will be a volatile fixture for obvious reasons, but I suspect there has been more trouble involving City fans over the past couple of seasons than there has with these 2 clubs. Like the vast majority of football fixtures, their games pass off without incident week in week out. One...

Leeds and Leicester coming to Coventry

Nah, there is no simmering resentment between us and Leeds and Leicester game will be policed to within an inch of its life. The odd flash point perhaps, but nothing more.

    Well done everyone

Where was this? It was always going to be the case that everyone would stand in the lower tier central blocks. It was also going to be the case that many who usually stand would find themselves in the upper tier where they would be expected to sit. I haven't sat at a city game in 25 years+, so...

    Eccles

Next season is key for him. At 23 he's not exactly just breaking through, he was a first teamer at St Andrews in League One, so has been around the first team for a while. Definite progression this season, clearly a tidy footballer, but he can hide in a game, the play off semi 1st leg being an...

Leeds and Leicester coming to Coventry

So his contract is up? At 35, he's not getting a deal close to that anywhere else. I can see him taking a big cut and staying. Unless he has one year left, in which case he stays anyway.

    Championship thread 23/24

Ipswich aside, no real surprises there. Meaningless at this stage obviously, but no surprise we don't feature. View from other fans seems to be we have overachieved thanks in large part to two individuals who likely won't be with us next season. Expect to see lots of people tipping us for...

Leeds and Leicester coming to Coventry

Nothing to worry about re Leicester or Leeds for that matter. Both have come here without incident many times. Leicester it will be rocking for sure, not in their end mind, clappers will get drowned out. I imagine Leicester will reduce away allocation to 2K next season, so hope we return the...

    Travel

You could not have created adequate transport infrastructure needed from scratch for a venue that size in the middle of nowhere without eye watering investment. One rail hub, compared to London with rail connections to every corner of the country terminating at one of Euston, Kings Cross...

If we've got money to spend

The solidarity payments all teams get, it is not extra. Players will have definitely received bonuses for making play offs and then progressing to final. Even with any monies the play offs generated (far less than people are saying), we'll still make a loss this season. Amy money for transfers...
