    Summer transfer window 2024

Since we're running out of time, I don't think we'll see any more new faces in this window.

    EFL Cup 2nd round draw

At least it’s a home tie. Winnable too.

    Leadership

It appears a lot of things have to be done by committee now with this team. We may no longer have a Hamer or a Fadz and now temporarily without Sheaf. So everyone needs to step up and chip in.

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

Couldn't watch the match and just saw the highlights. Happy with the win!. Glad to get Saturday's loss out of our system. Seems like we played a 442 formation which i think gives better balance in midfield while maintaining an attacking threat. Seems like Wilson played well from the highlights...

    Summer transfer window 2024

A few tweets out now about Southampton and Ipswich being interested in Sheaf. If Sheaf goes now, I think our playoff hopes go with him. I think Hamer would be a better option for these clubs than Sheaf. Plus he would pass the medical as well unlike Sheaf.

Watched Luton vs Burnley highlights and have to say Burnley looked very impressive. They can easily walk this division like they did the last time. We really need defensive reinforcements pronto if we have any playoff aspirations.

Exactly. We’ve only upgraded our attacking options, but nothing on the defensive side. We’re very imbalanced as a squad especially on the defensive side at the moment. Any injuries or suspensions further exacerbates the problems.

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

We have a league game vs Bristol C coming up after Oxford. So we play them a couple of times in quick succession. If I had to choose between the 2 games vs Bristol C, I'd obviously priortise winning the league match over the cup game. It would also be wise not to show all our cards in the cup...

Rohl is a very good manager. They’ll do very well this season. Corberan is another very good manager. In spite of all the issues around WBA, I was impressed by their away win on Saturday.

Think he made more than 1 last ditch tackle to deny almost certain goals or goal scoring chances for Stoke.

Saw their highlights against Norwich. They were impressive. If we lose to them on Friday, I’m afraid to think of the meltdown here.

We are not cohesive enough and don’t move up and down the field as a unit. Yesterday in the first half especially there were huge gaps in midfield that were easily exploited by Stoke which allowed them to break at will. Only in the second half did we show some signs of being compact and moving...

    Summer transfer window 2024

We never looked like scoring. Maybe losing the game was a good thing because it highlights our problems to Doug and MR. Still got around 20 days to address it in this window.

Rob Gurney said something to the effect of Johannsen could have come in his pajamas and slippers and sat is a lawn chair to read a newspaper. That’s how easy it was for him.

It’s a very competitive league and you have to make the most of limited opportunities that come your way. That’s why winning the ball when you’re out of possession is so important. I don’t want to ding Simms too much, but he sometimes is too indecisive and slow. There was one chance in the...

Torp and Palmer are similar players in that they are finesse guys who play with flair and like to do the fancy things. I just want a basic, hardworking, no nonsense midfielder with some grit and determination that will win the ball when out of possession and drive the team forward.

And Binks who was my MOTM. He was the reason we were in the game until they scored.

Match Thread Stoke away 10th August 12:30 - Opening day!

No, we beat Forest on opening day in 21-22. We’ve had Hamer and Fadz’s leadership at the back for every opening day since we’ve been back in the Championship (2-1 loss to Bristol C, 2-1 win v Forest, 1-1 draw v Sunderland and 2-1 loss to Leicester), but this was by far the poorest performance...
