Stability is what has dragged us from L2 to where we are now and what’s been achieved. A lot in here can remember the revolving door days. It doesn’t work.
We do want a lot from owners don’t we. Spaff millions up the wall. Take a risk you may never see a penny of it again. Develop things off the pitch. Excuse poor signings on it and cough up for replacements. But have an opinion on anything - no thanks. As a club, you take the money, you take a...
We’ve spent £45m but we’ve had to replace Gyokeres, Hamer, O’Hare, Kelly, Godden plus others on the fringe. Quoting money spent in isolation is just ridiculous. It’s just part of the team turnover and the natural evolution of ins and outs.
Two myths to be put to bed.
1) James, the out of contract Messi, is no sort of answer. Mistakes were made in the window around midfield. I’d rather see Andrews given a run.
2) We didn’t replace Hamer. We did. We signed Torp. He’s just not good enough.
The Spurs game suited a non composed performance. We could look good hassling and harrying. It’s why Bassette and BTA looked decent in that game. We’re lacking the know how when it’s a game we can dominate and have time on the ball.
Change what? Our issue is midfield. Who are you bringing on? We concede easy goals. Who are you bringing on? It’s not players or systems that needed change. It was mindset.
Players we’ve signed since the play off final we’d make a profit on
Dovin, MVE, Thomas, Dasilva, Latibeaudiere, Sakamoto, Wright, Simms, Rudoni, Bassette, Thomas-Asante.
Eustace has Blackburn purring. We’re at home but we’re in rabbit in headlight mode. We’ve just got to play our strongest team.
Dovin
MVE Binks Kitching Bidwell
Eccles Sheaf Rudoni
Saka Bassette Wright
Bassette for Simms purely looking at their CH’s.
This isn’t about Robins. He’s a proven operator. The new face in the mix is King. The “we’ve been rescued” period is now giving way to the he doesn’t actually know what he’s doing and he’s making the decisions one.
It’s beyond doubt that something is amiss behind the scenes. Doug/coaching/backroom probably all contributing. Tactics are largely a myth. The skill of a management group is to create an esprit de corp, an atmosphere of winning and a feel good factor that transmits to the pitch. It was best done...
I seriously think Bournemouth were in for Simms and we said no and it’s affected him. Ratings wise I thought Wilson was OK first half and Wright had some quality about him. That’s it.
