Also, take the Southampton 2nd goal. His Goals Prevented would only suffer by 0.06 but his mindless swipe at the ball caused the chance.

The fly in the ointment is the severe regression over the last 10-15 games. He’s gone from about +3.7 Goals Prevented to +0.9. Still above the average as a season-long metric but the most recent string of games I’m confident would have him at or near the bottom. Unsure whether there’s any data...

Sarmiento only joined in January after being called back from WBA due to lack of game time. You can kind of get away with it for half a season at a time. Williams I’d imagine has a good relationship with McKenna from their Utd days so probably happy to be there for now.

Think I recall we looked at Samuel Silvera last summer who ended up going to Middlesbrough. Seemed to do pretty well in Aus but has flopped in Championship.

Clearly a far more rounded striker than the one that joined. I’d hope he sees that progress and thinks another year here is best for his career. However, again it comes back to the fact that if we got £15-20m to ‘go again’ it would need to be considered. As an aside, can’t be arsed with this...

It’s where I thought someone like Callum Styles would be well-suited in midfield as he could tuck across to LB if the LB was up the pitch. Eccles does it occasionally on the right and would provide a nice balance.

He can see what’s in front of him. You need the keeper to take control of the situation. He was on his heels.

Flip that argument on its head - our first XI is fairly strong in most areas, but we’d still be lacking a good keeper. It’s right towards the top of the priority list for me.
