    Transfer Shouts

Yeah it's senseless keeping one of our higher earners on for another year when he's only likely to barely feature. Works for both parties.

    Transfer Shouts

I suspect he'll probably look to move on. If he stays next season his game time will once again be limited, which isn't ideal when he's well into his 30s now and likely wants to feature regularly.

    Transfer Shouts

Which is where in lies the problem. It's the proportion of wages which we'll likely have to shoulder. I'd be astonished if the split for any was in our favour. It's far more likely to go the other way.

    Transfer Shouts

I think that was pretty obvious from the outset to be honest.

    Transfer Shouts

The playing budget may have increased slightly due to the price/numbers increase of ST sales. But any growth in the club's turnover isn't likely to be particularly significant anyway and there's the renovation to Ryton's pitches to factor in. Regardless, the budget will be the budget and any...

    Transfer Shouts

It's a positive that the above players have moved on to make way for Palmer coming on board but I think it's pretty obvious that without moving on Waghorn, Walker and Kelly especially that Robins' manoeuvrability in the window is going to be nothing short of restricted - even if/when a player is...

    Transfer Shouts

Are they decent outgoings? Their combined wages probably amount to the club being able to bring in one player. Dacosta nor Reid are the priorities. Walker, Waghorn, Kelly and now apparently Kane are.

    Next year Season tickets

From Lee Bowyer a few weeks ago: “From what I understand there will be no money to spend and we will have to cut back again,” the head coach claimed. “If the ownership [change] happens it is not going to change anything on the financial side because on the Financial Fair Play we have to cut...

    Transfer Shouts

Why would there be a slump when the vast majority of those who would've looked to buy STs have already bought?

    Transfer Shouts

Jordan Rhodes was bought by Blackburn the first season post relegation, Derby bought Jack Marriott from Peterborough who were clearly vying for promotion, QPR bought Conor Washington in their second season of parachute payments, Wilson was bought by Bournemouth who again were clearly revving up...

    Transfer Shouts

Does that really automatically negate a move to a promotion-chasing Championship side? As there's a plethora of examples that suggest otherwise.

    Derby points deduction

Why? It's within the EFL's interest to keep extending those deadlines whilst there are parties still interested. We've received a huge amount of leniency from the EFL in the past so we're in no position to be asking them to throw the book at Derby.

There's a meeting today apparently so we'll soon find out.

    Derby points deduction

I think those are the questions that strangely aren't being asked. It's very much feeling that it's out of the pan and into the fire. Clubs in their situation often attract the type. Hopefully for the fans sake that's not the case and he's genuine. But they've been here before where...

    Derby points deduction

I very much doubt he'll be using his own money.

    Transfer Shouts

Bright wasn't a significant gamble though. It was a very strange signing, but it was pretty inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. Equally he is clearly also borderline insane.

    Transfer Shouts

I wouldn't go as far to say it's likely at all. It's a horrible cliche but it's really one that time will tell with how he fares. At least it's an upgrade on Shipley, Allen and Jones.

    Transfer Shouts

Due to our restricted budget and the increased element of risk though the go-to is always going to be: what if he flops? Especially given his fairly uninspiring track record and purported wages. As much as it could be a coup, it could equally be disastrous. Which is why the level of scepticism...

    Transfer Shouts

I think fans are right to be sceptical. It would be pretty disastrous if he flops within the first year and we're stuck with (by our standards) a substantial earner for a further two years.

    Transfer Shouts

Yeah I'd imagine they likely agreed a settlement whereby they'll pay the difference between his current contract here and his former contract until it expires next year. He'll still be one of our highest earners though.
