    Transfer Shouts

Posters are placing too much onus on the Kane signing. He was brought in on a medium-term contract to simply fill a role, which he did. He wasn't a failure, he just didn't excel - but then again when has he ever in the Championship. Waghorn didn't work out due to injuries and Godden/Vik...

    Transfer Shouts

That's what happens when fans delude themselves into thinking we're actually capable of signing the likes John Swift and Scott Twine.

Why so he can spend half the season suspended?

    Transfer Shouts

The vast majority of u23 signings won't make the grade as most are inexpensive punts the club make in the hope that they develop into a first-team player and potentially become an asset to make a sizeable profit on. The problem with the strategy is that the chances of an U23 player breaking...

    Gyökeres Bids

You do realise Watkins was deployed as a winger during his first two seasons at Brentford don't you? The two aren't at all comparable.

    Gyökeres Bids

Both players scored more than Gyokeres and are British. The respective clubs they played for also were in stronger negotiating positions than we currently are at the point of each sale.

He's got a point though. If we're keeping players based on their performances in the L2 Play Offs then we may as well have kept Shipley as well.

    Edited for you.

He's one of their highest earners and given they have been ordered by the EFL to cut their wage bill to £16m from £21m by the end of June I think he'll probably leave to make room for further signings.

    Championship 22-23

Josh Bowler will be a big loss, presuming he's sold. But Neil Critchley is a very good manager. I back them to stay up.

    Championship 22-23

Ince is a poor manager and losing Swift is a pretty substantial loss. They've appointed a new Director of Recruitment as I'd imagine they realised that if they have a poor window then they're likely to be in for a long season. Whether he'll make a significant difference remains to be seen...

    Championship 22-23

Bristol City, Birmingham, Reading, Rotherham, Wigan will all be at risk next season I'd imagine. Having Wycombe in the Championship is completely pointless.

    Championship 22-23

Exactly. Any notion that they'll struggle next season is solely driven by the strange bias against them.

    Championship 22-23

Well I think it's more of a case that the new 'owner' doesn't have as much of a controlling stake as Sunderland fans were led to believe. So it's complicated in terms of who's really making the decisions behind the scenes.

    Transfer Shouts

I'd wager we'll still be paying a significant portion of most of our fringe players' contracts once the transfer window ends - whether that be through them being on loan or settlements having been reached.

A portion, however significant or not, will need to be utilised to cover operating costs as well. So it's very difficult to quantify how much or little Robins will receive. There's also the EFL loan to consider.

    Championship 22-23

Will they though? They have an excellent manager in Alex Neil, a billionaire owner and the biggest fanbase in the division. They'll be fine.

    Transfer Shouts

I'd be very interested to see how much will be left to reinvest from a sale once operating costs and loans/interest payments are covered. Don't forget most transfers are paid in instalments as well.

His effort or love for the club was never in question, nor was ever doubted. The split from fans stemmed from a certain section of the fanbase consistently coming out with rubbish regarding his actual footballing ability. And when questioned or disagreed with they'd throw their toys out the pram...
