He was off the pace for a fair bit of the game but seemed to hit a Mario star power-up in the last 20 minutes. Very hard to argue with his output this season.

I think you’ve missed the point. It’s not that Robins doesn’t rate Palmer - he clearly does. It’s about setting up for a game which might go 120 minutes.
Think Palmer starting is at least in part because Robins has an eye on this game going beyond 90 minutes - neither Palmer nor O’Hare can go the distance but if you have to pick one who’d be on the pitch for extra time and penalties then it’s an obvious choice.
Really entertaining open game and we’re playing very well. Simms’ miss was atrocious but he’s having a very good game overall. Palmer’s final ball leaves a lot to be desired but he’s causing them problems - he’ll be spent soon, so have him go hell for leather for 10/15 and then bring on Torp -...
