Exactly. Some early adopters with what was then a reasonable but now shown to be a high “bubble” payment will end up having had a near miss (lower monthly payments - no equity but not having to fund the difference) . I can only imagine those bubble payments will have to be set at a more...

American style pick up trucks you regularly will, and they take up one and a half spaces in a car park. Caravans and motor homes you will from time to time and when they do they will create as much r8wk as, say, an X5. I was assuming we want to eradicate the risk of coming across sometime)Ng...

I hate those American style pick up trucks, they are huge and always seem to be driven really aggressively. While we are at it, can we ban caravans and motorhomes too, they take up a lot of space on the road.

I know you are very committed to this topic but Schools have been closed and amalgamated in the name of “efficiency” and aren’t so close to home. Stamp duty is a huge disincentive to moving, especially compared to the little more than the admin cost it was when I was young WFH will never be...

Road space isn't helped by creating cycle lanes and then not insisting that cyclists use them. Madness.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

What about a mum taking her three precious offspring to school? Or taking a neurosurgeon to work? Why do people commute so far? Is it because governments have increased the costs of moving home to live nearer work? why do people take their kids to school in a car, I walked or cycled (road not...

Cluttered might be a bit of an overstatement, but the point of those machines using pavements remains. At my age, it’s hard to get out of the way when youths are doing wheelies in my direction, as happened recently walking from my parked mild hybrid to the CBS Arena. Mind you:-...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3wkzgpjxvo Does that set the tariff for the Labour councillor advocating throats to be cut?

Not as bad as being confronted by a bus, van or lorry on the same street. Having said that, when I had an X5 it was tricky parking it in a typical parking bay.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The comment was based on a post advocating strongarming people into doing something. As I have said before , EVs with decent range tend to be big and heavy. Shit roads is down to them not being maintained, nothing like the tax paid by road users is spent on roads. People with suvs get taxed on...

    New cars

If they did similar to France, but using ANPR rather than toll booths, could start with motorways and major A roads. That would make finding the most scenic routes fun. Who knows how much, and it would be totally wrong to charge in addition to the level of existing taxes, including VED. They...

The discussion seems to have been in relation to EVs. If it is extended to include ICE with existing tariffs maintained, that would be a time to protest.

Having lived in France, at least the roads there are in bloody good condition. I was impressed with the surface on a local dual carriageway when we first moved there - within 6 months it had been resurfaced. Plus fuel was much cheaper.
