Jordan Shipley - is he good enough for league 1

He will probably get half a dozen goals this season. He sparked us into life in the away game at Oxford recently. Yes, he has been poor recently but as others have said Doyle's passing has been wasteful too. I think he is a decent squad player at this level. Whether he should be starting...

Yes, credit to Baka - he did well for our goal.

I agree with you that Willis was at fault for the first: he ducked to avoid the ball but he didn't get a shout from Hyam behind him (I don't think). Don't think he slipped, seemed deliberate. We could have had a couple of pens against us for handball today too: could have been worse!

Match Thread Bristol Rovers v Coventry City match thread Saturday 22 Sep

Thought we'd lose last week, but I think this game is there for the taking. 2-1 to us. Think there will be a lot of hoofing from both sides today because their pitch is notoriously bad after heavy rain... Am kicking myself because I've got a ticket in the home end when (at the time) there...

    Tony Andreu

Andreu was widely regarded as a player who would make a significant difference on his return when he was out last year... Anyone concerned that his apparent lack of fitness is actually a sign that he won't be anywhere near the player he could potentially be for us? Or is it still too early to...

0-2 loss today, but I think we will bounce back to beat Bristol Rovers next week

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

What's all the fuss about? He won't get Bakayoko out the team anyway :)

    Jayden Stockley

Exactly the player I would be looking at too. Bristol City 'only' paid £300k for him , so any wage shortfall could be sorted by money we'd save on transfer fee (compared with Chaplin) Don't think he fits the bill in terms of the type of player we could add value to though, which seems to be a...

    Lee Burge

He gives me the jitters because he always seems to take a fraction too long to kick the ball when a striker closes him down... However, I think he will be our no.1 next season and rightly so. The positives in his game outweigh the minuses. I think he has improved e.g. his positioning at free...

Match Thread Notts County v Coventry Friday 18th May

Sorry folks, think we'll lose 1-0 tonight... However, I am more optimistic about next season than I have been for a long, long time. Just hope our board have the sense to keep faith in Robins whatever the outcome of tonight.

Enjoyed the description of Lee Burge: 'arms flailing like a malfunctioning windmill'!!!!

    Biamou or JCH ?

JCH's temperament has held him back from playing at a higher level. For the first time in a very long while we have 4 strikers (JCH, Max, Ponti & McNulty) who are worth keeping for next season. I still think we need a beast of a striker (a bit like Lincoln have got) to offer a different option...

    Exeter

BTW I definitely think Exeter should play at their ground, but for obvious reasons I liked Liquid's post... Apart from away ticket allocation, another issue is the amount of time wasting Exeter do by deliberately hoofing the ball out of play on the railway line side of the ground, resulting in...

    Willis R/B- Grimmer tight midfield

Know what you mean Otis, but I think our wide players need to focus on actually providing some service to the strikers rather than just protecting the full backs. I realise we may be short in midfield: Reid and Ponti would need to do a lot of running, that's for sure. I suppose what I'm...

    Willis R/B- Grimmer tight midfield

I know Robins won't do this, but I'd go 4-2-4 and put the emphasis on just trying to score more goals than them rather than keeping it tight: O'Brien Grimmer Willis Davies Camwell Kelly Doyle Ponticelli Biamou McNulty Reid Probably bring on JCH early in 2nd half if Max is having an...

Player of the season vote now open

Voted McNumpty. Even when his confidence has been low he has kept going and got into good positions. Must have been frustrating for him to be partnered with Biamou when Max was struggling to find his feet in L2. I like Doyle and his influence on others but think McNulty has been more classy...

Match Thread Coventry City vs Grimsby Town Match Thread - Saturday 24th Mar

Simeon Jackson: the most disappointing signing in recent years in my book... thought he'd be decent, was very disappointing.... Mind you, I remember thinking that Darius Henderson would be a useful loan at the time! Didn't realise that his legs had completely gone....

    Video Crewe Highlights

We need a new left back next season whatever division we're in... Stokes just doesn't seem to be the same after his injury and Haynes is a liability anywhere near our own box. He can perform as many Cruyff turns as he wants, he is still a shit defender. Always has been, always will be. The...
