    Gyokeres

Of course it matters, there have been clubs interested for the last six/twelve months, how many have made a bid? Clubs will pay what they believe the player is worth, Sporting being a prime example with their first offer, being much lower than most fans expectations.

    Gyokeres

Big difference between Watkins and Gyokeres is that Watkins had three years (4th with an optional year) on his contract at Brentford when he was sold to Villa. Therefore Brentford could demand whatever they wanted as they were not under pressure to sell. CCFC aren’t in that position with...

    Gyokeres

Indeed he does, but IMO we won't get £25m for him. Would be happy to see it, but given Sporting's opening offer was less than half of £25m, it's clear clubs don't rate his value as high.

    Gyokeres

£15m - £18m IMO. Similar goals per game records as well. Armstrong a goal every 2.5 games for Blackburn and Gyok is getting a goal in every 2.3 games for us.

    Transfer targets

So what you are saying is to fill the gaps, you'd take 10 players that had the same qualities as players we have released because there are gaps to be filled. Over my suggestion of taking 5/6 players who you pay a little more for and are actually an improvement on what we had previously, i.e...

    Gyokeres

£25m for a player who has never kicked a ball in the Premier League and has one year left on his contract? No chance. Adam Armstrong was sold to Southampton with a similar contract length remaining for £15m (reported). City might get lucky if other clubs get into a bidding war, but clubs...

    Transfer targets

2 players going back to their parent clubs aren't released from us so it's 10 + 2 players we never owned. We need quality over quantity. Lets take Walker and Waghorn as an example, I'd take one striker with a better quality than two combined. If / When Gyok is sold then we can look at...

    Transfer targets

Only 10 players have been released up until now. If it stays at that 10 + Gyok, I am comfortable with the numbers needed in my previous post. I would add that they would have to be first team quality players, not fringe players.

Based on this we need. x1 RWB x1 LWB (permitting Bidwell goes) x3 CB x2 ST

    Gyokeres

I cannot see CCFC getting a penny over £15m for Gyokeres. Is he worth more than that, not in my opinion based on the fact that Gyok has 12 months left on his contract.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

MR said yesterday though everyone was in a good place. Don’t read too much into the training pictures.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

I think LTFC fans would be bonkers to underestimate us. Both games this season ended in a draw, but in a one off game all the games previously go out the window.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

IMO I believe we will setup as we did in the 2nd leg against Boro. Luton are likely to play the five across the back and three CM's, giving us that extra body in midfield will be useful.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Every match comes with a pressure, the lads have dealt with it well so far. Let's hope Saturday continues in that vain.

Got to enjoy the occasion, doesn't happen every day. Of course it will be nervy, but that's part of the fun :D

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Saturday's game cannot be understated, it's the biggest game in the Club's history. CCFC are 90mins from returning to the Premier League which will impact on the club for a number of years to come. Standing in our way is a very well organised, strong and athletic side. The lads can do it, I...

Match Thread Middlesbrough vs Coventry City Play off Semi final 2nd leg Match Thread - Wednesday 17th May

Removed all distractions last night, just so I could watch the game and take it in. Great game from our perspective, we had the chances for it to be 3-0, we looked fairly comfortable dealing with Boro and while they had a few good chances I never felt they would take them in. Had about five...
