Eccles and Sheaf brilliant. Also thought Kitching had a good game and Bidwell showed why he is and always should have been first choice. Godden out, O’Hare free behind Simms and Wright and we’ll be fine.

    Josh Eccles

Eccles and Sheaf are two of the best midfielders in the division.

    UTTER SHITE

The answer is staring Robins in the face. You go with todays line up but put O’Hare in for Godden. He’s a poacher that’s not scoring.

    Points by half way

This is the Championship - it’s easier to predict the lottery results. We can beat anyone on our day and be beaten by anyone. It’s random

    The case for Yasin Ayari

Ayari is the kind of guy that would be great if you were allowed 11 players + him and he could add his rare flashes of ability. But he is a luxury player and doesn’t contribute enough overall.

    Jay DaSilva Signs!

Depends what you want. If you want someone to receive the ball in midfield, control it and return it to where it came from he’s fine and keeps you in possession. But if you want someone to stop goals being conceded he’s not as good as Bidwell at that.

    Jay DaSilva Signs!

Dasilva’s problem is that he’s very weak defensively. He’s ok in terms of the continuity game Robins wants but on balance I think he’s cover for Bidwell.

    Recruitment has been shocking

In early November it’s impossible to judge recruitment. We’ve just sold a striker for 20m who took time to settle and contribute. We sold Hamer close to the deadline so his replacement was always going to be Jan.

Rotherham v Ipswich : is your glass half full or ........

Definitely not looking backwards this early. Apart from 1-2 games we could have won or at least drawn our games. At the very worst we’ll be mid table this year.

I do think we’ve got too intricate around the box. Take Wrights double at Preston - both came from taking a punt rather than trying to thread the needle

What needs to happen in Jan window

I’d prioritise two. We look really exposed without Sheaf so we need a nuts and bolts midfielder. Then a creative midfielder in the Hamer mould. Be happy to return Ayari to free up some wages

Formations are a bit of a red herring in my mind. If it was my pick I’d have Kitching and Thomas in a flat back four with Ewijk and Bidwell. Sit Sheaf, Eccles and Allen in front of them. Put Wright and Simms up front and start O’Hare and tell him to play advanced but essentially in a free role

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I think Wright will be a good signing. Needs time to settle but it’s obvious he has ability. If I was Robins I’d start him in a good run of games.
