Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 25th Nov

Good save to be fair from wright for the goal. Easy for me to say but he should have lifted it over keepers leg. But we scored so happy days.

Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 25th Nov

This is the inconsistency issue I have a massive problem with - but arguably it’s the ‘subjectivity’ of one ref seeing something as a foul and another not.

2 of the best championship players ever

Well apparently Jobe was better than Jude as they were coming through the age groups, and the two times I’ve seen Jobe play at the CBS I didn’t think he stood out at all. But what do I know.

2 of the best championship players ever

I think something like this has to be based on how good they were when playing in champ, not necessarily their achievements/exploits since. (Otherwise apply it to League One and it would be half our Mowbray team with Maddison, Murphy, Cole and Armstrong). Mate of mine is a blues fan who saw...

    The Club Shop

True - and presumably what they pay the suppliers for it too. last season Southampton had proper Hummel replicas of their original of this years kit. So I’m hoping that’s what we’ll get - a proper 1988/89 replica with Granada bingo and everything. Or they’ve done a deal with Score Draw who do...

    The Club Shop

I reckon we could do it - spurs are doing it…. Got proper Hummel remakes of quite a few kits, and also proper Pony and Admiral ones - with sponsors too. Only one that isn’t official is the Umbro kits they do. https://shop.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs-retro-range

    Songs We No Longer Sing

Only really worked once he left us (and I can’t remember singing it while he was with us), but to Huckerby: “Same old Darren, always offside” and first season at Ricoh, when we went on a great home run (probably would only work that first season when teams played there the first time, and we...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I personally think his movement is really good, especially finding space for himself and/or looking across the line for offside and timing his runs. The expected goals is interesting as there have certainly been chances that he should have scored - but there’s a whole lot more that were more...

    The Club Shop

Hummel seem to be hinting on Twitter today/yesterday something around modern shirts being introduced to their originals, so maybe the retro range is imminent?

    Referee

Depends on the offence - and how the laws are interpreted - examples being handball and fouls, so I accept that argument. But offside should be black and white - not if the linesman ‘thinks’ the player might have been - if they’re not sure then they shouldn’t flag - even more so when there isn’t...

    Referee

I get we’ve had a few decisions go our way this season (Wilson not getting sent off at qpr as an example), but if everything evens itself out over the season we’ve got an awful lot coming our way. Consistency isn’t too much to ask for is it?

    Referee

Not making excuses - we didn’t take our chances and defended poorly, but this was the wright one when he was clean through…. I’m assuming it was the same linesman, but for him to give wright offside for this and their guy onside for the goal is outrageous….

    Kasey Palmer

Genuinely think we’ve missed him last few weeks. If not for his set piece taking - at least he whips in corners with a bit of pace.

    Full English

Not been barn at berryfields, but Oakes farm shop in balsall common and the farm shop cafe at stoneleigh showground are particular favourites of mine - however not cheap. need to try a few more to be fair. Millsys always used to be good but not been for a few years.

    Is Ryton training ground done?

Works really well that, not sure it would work at the CBS but definitely at the lodge - nod to the HR days.

    Things that annoy you

Ex pro footballers, particularly those from London (Joe Cole for example) not being able to say Bellingham’s name correctly. “Bellinum”… It’s Bellingham with a silent H. Pronounce the G.

    Robins' tactics Vs Norwich

Fascinating. When you see it like that it make absolute sense - and you realise how switched on every player needs to be. to me there’s certain things that are obvious when you’re watching it - the starting again by going back and shifting the play to create space, but the other stuff like how...

    Things that annoy you

This, and in car parks, especially supermarket ones, walking down the middle of the ‘road’ bit and not getting out of the way. And people crossing a road and expecting you to stop despite there being an actual crossing 10 metres further up than they actually are.

    Referee

I’ve seen worse refs, but it was when Sakamoto got cut in half by two of their players on the touch line and was given nothing, and then 20 seconds later wright basically tickled their defender and he went down and got a free kick. Wasn’t even a push, just hands/fingers on the back. Eccles got...
