    Defence

At the moment we are commiting suicidal things defensively that are costing us dearly. The first 2 goals today shocking and the handball awful by Ohare like Biamou on Wednesday. At the moment these silly mistakes are costing us points. BUT, there is a hell of a lot to be positive about from...

    Max biamou

I love Max. He works so hard not just on the pitch, but to even get on the pitch initially. Despite looking out of favour he comes back time and time again. Match sharpness he controls that ball in 1st half and I think he scores. 2nd half he almost catches it too sweet but he added so much to...

    Reasons to be optimistic...

We all knew we would lose a lot of games. My concern is the manner we seem to be waiting for the inevitable, absolutely devoid of confidence. We don't take the game to them and it is incredibly frustrating as I think if we did we would look much more of a threat.

    New third shirt

Posted in the other thread but 80 years since the Coventry Blitz. Wonder of it could be to do with that. Phoenix from the Ashes. Rebuilding - links to today and the pandemic with the country having to rebuild. That is my link the the 'topical' quote.

    Boddy article

My guess is something to do with Blitz. 80 years. Being unveiled in November. Rising from the Ashes. Rebuilding. Topical as that is what the country is gling to have to do post pandemic. That is my guess.

    First 6 games

The way I look at it, we have lost 3 games against 3 sides that will be wanting top 6, 2 of which will probably be pushing for automatics. We haven't lost a game yet that I didn't expect us too. Should have won last night, but it is the results against the likes of Huddersfield, Birmingham...

    Match Thread Brentford Match Thread

This midfield is not working. We can't keep the ball for more than 1 pass and they just waltz through us like a knife through butter.

    Meltdown Central Forum

There will be a huge chunk of the season where games are like the Barnsley and QPR games where they are there to go and win and we have to makesure we do.

    Out classed

We were very poor. Caused our own problems and they took advantage. They looked confidence and experienced and we looked timid. Frustrating but too many poor performances from us.

    Podcast Couldn't hit a Barn-sley door

As in the guy on twitter who tweeted about JJ? No this isn't him. This is the one who has done all the player interviews, Doyle, Kelly Marosi etc.

    McNulty

I believe that stupid player was the one and only Nathan Clarke.

    No bottomless pit

Yeah I completely agree. I feel we got out of League 1 at literally the best possible time, with the uncertainty, lack of competition, tv income etc.

Next 4 Fixtures (how many points)

We are playing in the Championship not the Champions league. Every game is winnable. If we can finish the next 4 with 10 points on the board in total that would be a very good return. I believe we can win 2 of the next 4 games.

    Missed opportunity?

It is a point gained. Ofcourse would have loved a win. Writing off the next 4 is a joke. Yes we could lose them all but we could quite as easily win them. Let's not get carried away with who we are playing. They will be tough games but games I don't see any reason that we can't create...

    Jamie Allen

To be fair Robins said our business was done on January Deadline day and low and behold a few hours later Giles signed, so I wouldn't take what Robins as absolute fact. Things could easily between now and the deadline. In regards to Allen, absolutely laughable that people are saying he is...

    Barnsley Player Ratings

Take the point. Not a great performance on the ball but we still had good positions and we lacked final ball, it was either just infront or just behind Godden. Defence was good, again looked but leggy last 15 mins but saw out the clean sheet. Think some on here being way too harsh, Walker...

    Match Thread Barnsley Match Thread

A lot of times this season we will hear and see teams think because we have that 'newly promoted' tag that we should be a win for other teams. It won't take long though for that perception to change as we keep playing our attractive football, scoring goals and getting wins.

    Shankland

I think I remember seeing Boddy saying that we were budgeting for most the season to be behind closed doors anyway so I think whether we sign this guy or not we have been careful within a budget that was on the safe side of things in regards to fans returning etc. Will be interesting to see if...

Doing Transfers Differently - Sky Sports article with Chris Badlan

Will always be hits and misses with transfers, but Badlan has had so many more hits than misses. Jobello looked OK until his injury so for me jury is still out. Da Costa suffered injury sadly but look forward to seeing him when he is back. Hilssner again jury is out. It is great though to have...
