The changes are different to what the cheapest tickets to get actually are, this seems to be the cheapest route (from Nuneaton, anyway). But you actually change at Sheffield and don't go as far as Chapeltown. It's also cheaper to get a Birmingham - Derby return, than a Nuneaton to Derby return...

I guess it depends on the definition of an overhead kick Vs a flying volley. The goal against Peterborough wasn't a bicycle kick, but it was an acrobatic airbourne volley where the ball was level with his head at the time of striking.
