    Concourse

The concourses have always been chaotic at half time, especially in the early days of the Ricoh when we had much bigger crowds than yesterday. Nothing has ever been learned so no surprise there. I never bother leaving my seat at half time as I can do without their overpriced catering. Of...

    Northampton Cut Price Tickets

I'll stick to my car then, thanks! Actually, now you mention it, I do get another benefit for being over 60. I can use the gym at my local sports centre every afternoon for free. I usually go twice a week. That should keep the big black wagon at bay a bit longer!!

    Northampton Cut Price Tickets

Not at 60. I'm 62 and still have to wait almost 4 more years for mine.

We are not on telly for - yet

Maybe they could be called Soccer Club United of Manchester. Much more appropriate acronym.

    Reda

It does seem that Johnson recovers slowly from injuries. Maybe we don't know the full details of his succession of injuries but he never seems to miss a game or two like most players, it's always reckoned in terms of months. I'm afraid I was one of those who would have offloaded him in the...

    Reda

I have long thought that some professionals just don't have a body that is able to withstand the physical efforts of constantly playing and training. It seems to be regardless of ability too. Some are plagued by injury through their careers and others never seem to pick up any at all...

    0-0!!!!!

That's right, we lost 4-3 at White Hart Lane in a game totally out of character for both teams, as Spurs were poor then too and hadn't won for months. After that we reverted to type and scored one more goal that season in the remaining 7 games. Strange times, they were.

    FA Cup

The 4th Preliminary Round is this weekend. The draw for the 1st Round takes place on Monday night at 7.00pm, it's on BBC2.

    0-0!!!!!

Afraid not. During February & March 1992 we drew 4 games on the trot 0-0. Liverpool (h), Southampton (a), Manchester Utd (h) and Norwich (h). They were the tedious days of Don Howe, although a couple of those results were decent ones.

    Shock Signings

I remember being very surprised when we signed Colin Stein from Rangers in 1972. They had just won the European Cup Winners Cup and Stein had scored in the final. In that era I actually still believed that we were destined to become one of the top clubs in the country.

    Michael O'Neill

Michael O'Neill's debut was on the opening day of the season in 1996 when we were hammered 3-0 at home by Forest with a Campbell hat-trick. O'Neill was substituted at half time on his debut and didn't play again all season. Not the stuff of legends! His next start was over a year later and he...

will pressley be after any city players

Perhaps we should have kept Webster. Might have got half a million for him!

Pick your best city 11 since you've been alive!

Lol!! Whenever this crops up I usually arrive at more or less the same team but some are absolute certs for me. Glazier was the best by far in goal, Roy Barry the finest centre back I've seen for us, Ian Gibson as the midfield genius and Ian Wallace as the best striker we've had, a gnat's in...

Pick your best city 11 since you've been alive!

Difficult to pick one over 50 years of watching City but mine would be something like this: Glazier Coop Peake Barry Cattlin Bennett Gibson Yorath Hutchison Wallace Hudson The subs would be from: Ogrizovic Clements Curtis E Hunt Ndlovu Carr Martin

    Yeovil (Away) JPT Match Thread

It may only be the Paintpot Trophy but it is the easiest route to a day out at Wembley so it is a shame we are out of it. I don't think the 30000 that turned up for that Crewe game would have regarded it as a worthless cup had we made it to the final.

    Scoreboard at the Shrews Game

I noticed at the Chesterfield game that the scoreboard had the Southend United badge displayed for the team announcements. So if they had found a Shrewsbury one at least it was progress. I agree the public address system is abysmal too. It just comes over as loud distorted noise. They may be...

    Newcastle and armstrong

I think that if McClaren gets the boot, that would be good news for City. A new manager would want to assess what was there before recalling youngsters. If McClaren survives, he may try more and more desperate measures to keep his job, and that could include giving Armstrong a try. I am...

    Armstrong recall

The problem is that managers think short-term because of the mentality of firing them so quickly these days. McClaren is already under pressure and might try anything to keep his well paid job. 'One for the future' is probably not his priority right now. Wouldn't it be typical if he were...

    11k

It is the key point, you are right. City fans have seen so many false dawns over the years that it will be a gradual process, not just three or four games. If it continues over the season that we get good home performances - and wins - then attendances will creep up. But it will not happen...

A write up from Peak FM ( chesterfields local)

We played some excellent stuff today. I agree it could have been more comprehensive but for some wayward finishing. I did fear 'one of those days' at half time and said unless we took more care it could end 0-0. In the end 1-0 flattered them. Chesterfield offered absolutely nothing for most...
