Edge of Tomorrow: fine blend of story, action and humour (surprising for a Tom Cruise vehicle), but let down by its crash-bang final act. 6.5/10

I think Miliband is better protected from a Yes fallout for a couple of reasons. The first is that Darling is the face of the Labour/No campaign and Cameron is (meant to be) the unifying prime minister; that gives EM a couple of substantial bodies to hide behind. The second reason is that the...

    Scottish Independence

If Scotland leaves the union then the ramifications could slam the Tories as much as Labour. There would be strong calls from within the party for Cameron to go. If he does go, then the Tories have lost their best vote-winner. If he stays on, then some disgruntled backbenchers could defect to...

Miliband may not be everything people want him to be, but he's a significant improvement on Cameron and Boris.

There's a very good piece on the BBC website explaining how Scots are voting for values rather than policies. Well worth a read to understand the Yes mindset: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-29011507 There are too many ifs for Cameron to hurdle: if Scotland says no, if the Conservatives win...

It does. I watched Godzilla and also found it a bore. I'm surprised it received such a positive reception. There is this talented ensemble cast playing cliche-to-go roles. The story structure is clunky and hard to follow at times, and then you just have big CGI monsters bashing each other...

Would anyone like Robins back at Cov

'Stability' is a nice word, especially for a club whose recent history has been as turbulent as City's. We're all responsive to it. There are problems, though. The first is that in the modern game, successful managers are likely to jump ship (e.g. Robins). The second is that there is no solid...

Would anyone like Robins back at Cov

You're not alone in thinking that and may be right. I just don't think that much of him because of the Wise inflationary effect (though you could give MA credit for bringing him in) and because he ultimately lost the dressing room. Outside of the Wise window, results weren't impressive and the...

Would anyone like Robins back at Cov

The majority of unemployed former Championship and L1 managers, I would imagine. It's a job - a six figure job at that - and a chance to get back in the game and rebuild their reputation. Impossible to say. I think it's always pot luck. Since exiting the Premier League, our best managers have...

Plenty would apply. As they always have done, as they always will do.

    Steven pressleys record

If the club had been less keen on stability and a little keener on chopping-and-changing, then they may have avoided a couple of relegations.

Good call. I saw that a few months ago and was gripped from start to finish. It's proper filmmaking: around 90 minutes, starts as close to the end as possible, and manages to hold the viewer despite there being one actor and only a few lines of dialogue. Highly recommended.

Bloody is. Watched the first, painful half hour or so. By the end of that Noah had received his message from God, pretty much built the ark, pretty much filled it with animals, told Ray Winstone and co they were fucked. But there were still two hours left in the film. How?! Abandoned it then and...
