    Talksport Danny Kelly

Funny listening to this. Danny Kelly is more upset about the Robins departure than Andy Turner is. Defeatist attitude in this city.

Ok.........Who do we want next ?

Grayson had an acrimonious parting with Blackpool as he walked out on them to join Leeds. That won't do him any favours after what has gone down with Robins.
  3. Colonel Mustard

Ok.........Who do we want next ?

Eric Black, Richard Money, Gregor Rioch.

    Eric black

Would love to see Eric return. He checks all the boxes: 1. has had success at CCFC in the manager's role 2. is out of work 3. apparently lives locally

    New club statement

It is false equivalency IMO. The scope of the commitment involved in a football club is huge, whether it's the local population, promises made to players who committed their long-term futures based on the manager's presence, or the club's funds. It is not the average office job. I think some...

is this because of robins' meeting with Joy?

It can just be a coincidence.

Surely SISU are to blame for this?

A better question to ask is why Robins insisted on a minimum fee release clause in his contract...

    Premature ejaculation

The Telegraph is usually quite reliable for breaking news - the problem is that they don't break news particularly often. Add to that reports on BBC C&W, Radio 5, established football reporters on Twitter and, what the hell, betting odds ... I think it is a fairly safe subject to discuss.
  9. Colonel Mustard

Surely SISU are to blame for this?

One would think there is an obligation for all board members to discuss that type of offer, even if they turn out to be unanimous in saying no.

    Robins gone

Indeed. I am sure Huddersfield would have taken Adkins well before Robins if he was available to them.

    Coventry City New Caretaker Manager

TBF, two of the best managers since relegation - Nilsson and Black - were the 'cheap' internal option.
  12. Colonel Mustard

Surely SISU are to blame for this?

For all we know it might be standard practice ... it's just that our managers haven't been good enough in the past to warrant an approach. And if such clauses do exist, it is not unreasonable to assume there is a quid pro quo in there, making it easier and less costly to sack the manager, say.

    Coventry City New Caretaker Manager

Hopefully Rioch. He could be a legitimate candidate for the job, so having him as interim boss means he gets trialled as well as giving the club time to interview others.
  14. Colonel Mustard

    Can SiSU be blamed?

His release clause explains everything, disappointingly.

    Robins gone

If Robins is a smart cookie, he will hint at some 'upstairs disruption' as a reason for leaving. But let us not fall into that trap again. Robins has been treated very well while he has been here. This is 100% on him.
  16. Colonel Mustard

    Robins gone

Big time. If he has cleared his desk, he has gone. There's no way back for him here.
  17. Colonel Mustard

    Robins gone

Very unimpressive show by Robins. Ah well.
  18. Colonel Mustard

If MR goes, who do want in?

It didn't. Nilsson and Black both delivered the goods until they were unjustly sacked.

    Rebrand to yellow

Red has been proven to have a positive impact on a team's results. A red/orange kit would fit in nicely with the phoenix from the flames thang.
