    Players at fault

Managers get sacked because teams and players underperform. A new manager takes full responsibility for the team and players on the promise that he can improve their performance. That's how it works. If the players underwhelm, then you must look to the manager. You can't simply ship players in...

    Where are we at fault?

Players are always an issue, but how can their behaviour be affected? The only way is through changing the management team.

    Where are we at fault?

Those questions have been asked since October 2011. It has been a cause for concern since October 2011.

sub forum request for managers debate

It's bad enough having three CCFC sub-forums. If you take it too personally when hearing an opinion that differs from yours, stay away from internet forums.

    Praise to Thorn

All I did was point out the obvious hypocrisy of a man with 3600 posts (in 12 months) complaining about topical repetitiveness - the one subject you seemed not too keen to comment upon in that post.

    Praise to Thorn

Says the man with 3,631 posts? All original I suppose?

    Praise to Thorn

So you're saying that's not a comparison between Thorn and Fergie?

...followed by comparing Fergie's "rough start" to that of Thorn's. You compared Thorn to Fergie twice. Where did I say you said that? I did say you made a comparison, which is indisputable.

    Stuart Linnell

Nothing wrong with playing devil's advocate, but Linnell has become ballwasher-in-chief.

    Praise to Thorn

Maybe so, in which case the comparison with Thorn is increasingly ludicrous, yes?

    Praise to Thorn

It wouldn't be encouraging in the least.

It's also worth noting that the first couple of seasons under Fergie were an improvement - 21st to 11th in 86-87, then second place in 87-88. At least Fergie had something to point to when times got rough.

Results are the byproduct of performance. I can honestly say that the results in the first few league games do not matter if the team is performing well. But look at the stats from the first two games: Possession: outmatched by the opposition both games Corners: 11 (opposition) v 6 (City) Goal...

    Nothing inflammatory about that.

    Praise to Thorn

We were three wins from safety. They could have been had, especially when you compare the home record to the away record. There's rarely such a thing as a "proven manager". Some managers succeed at club X and fail at club Y. Why was it that the unproven Black did so much better than his...

    Your Choice of Manager?

Because it is a messageboard. About a football team. Whose manager is unsuccessful. An unhealthy deflection. We haven't won, and winning is what counts. The lack of winning is what cost us last year. No he is not. You can say what you like about his "potential", what he could do with X...
