Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Not much good economic news around these days but this could really help provide a boost. Hope the government jumps on the opportunity and tries to make this an attractive option for companies with their industrial strategy later this year UK companies set to spend $650bn bringing their...

    Sheff Utd ratings

They are, with a far bigger budget. I still think an on form City with Kitching and Rudoni playing (maybe with Simms down middle) gives them a far better game last night

Match Thread Sheffield United - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 28th Mar

Spot on. He’s likely our No 1 for the rest of the season so let’s get behind him. In terms of team performance it was disappointing but guessing Kitching was a late drop out so messed up plans, wouldn’t be surprised if that meant dasilva was taken out as Bidwell might be able to protect Binks...

FFS. Binks is just awful at defending in a 4

Played well second half. Far braver and more urgent on the ball

FFS. Last thing we needed. Hope it’s not as serious as it looked (ligament maybe)

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Don’t disagree with a fair bit of this but I was responding to wingys question about the X thread I posted. A lot of the issues in it are more legacy stuff/structural. Reeves hasn’t helped and may well have made some things in the short term, but hard to pin the underlying issues on her and the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Hard to blame current lot just a few months in but let’s see if they make it any better or worse over the course of the parliament

I’d imagine it’s a concern about Reform. Agree with this ‘Have confidence in your approach and if people see/feel improvement then they’ll naturally come aboard.’ There won’t be another GE for 4 years so just get on with implementing changes that will benefit the country

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

I was talking about Musk v Putin. Even so I’d struggle to argue Trump is currently anywhere near Putin either (even if I do think is a crazy narcissist )

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Fiscal rules are required to at least try to maintain control over borrowing costs. I respect FPs alternative view on this but I (and pretty much every country in the world) just see it as totally unworkable and/or likely to crash financial system if they tried it Ultimately though Reeves...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

How can someone be disliked as much as a murdering dictator, that has sent hundreds of thousands of his own citizens to death/serious injury and that has stolen kids from their homeland though ?! Nobody can convince me it’s not weird reflection of the strange world we now live in.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

I think Musk is an ego manic (and a bit weird - on the spectrum) but if anyone thinks he’s comparable to Putin there’s no hope. Sums up this country and elsewhere in the west…. certain people are willing to set fire/damage random peoples cars (abroad, not here I hope) but you don’t hear a peep...

Which would be hilarious if it wasn’t worrying. What a weird country we live in

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is more the discussion we should be having. What are people happy to pay for good public services and then can the government deliver them ! Unfortunately the lack of confidence in the latter (all political parties) makes the former trickier At the moment for example I’m paying...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

If they didn’t, I presume the only answer is print more ? There are £2.5trn worth of bonds that would need to be repaid/replaced over time. I don’t know what would happen in terms of inflation (hyper inflation) and currency debasement if we printed all that cash but I doubt it would be pretty...
