    Not normally one to bleat…

… about media bias - as it’s usually eye of the beholder stuff but the BBC report of the West Brom game is a joke. Written almost exclusively about WBA with barbs about larger CBS crowds for Chelsea, Wasps and Bruce Springsteen; a very peculiar gripe about Rudoni “getting away with a foul” in...

Who do you want to be relegated / promoted?

See this article on the bbc yesterday. Ahead of the Easter games every single Championship club could still get either promoted or relegated or both. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckg1y7ddrpxo

Who do you want to be relegated / promoted?

    1. Leeds, Burnley, Sheffield Utd (this division will be v v tough next season so getting rid of clubs w parachute payments is a good thing 2. Luton (see above) Cardiff and Stoke 3. Bham (as it’s done) Wycombe (wd love Wrexham to fail) and Stockport (so I can walk to an away ground for the...

    Away seating

Largely depends on the away club too. Sheffield United and famously Leeds last year insisted on fans only going to designated gangways from the start, others are more likely to take a “sit where you like” attitude (although you won’t sit wherever you are). My advice is to maybe head towards the...

8th Worst Stadium in the Country

Something I’ve NEVER understood about the discusssions about our ground is that the general legal principle that the responsibility for decontamination of land lies with the previous owner (original contaminator) of the land seems to be routinely ignored. When Ford closed their Leamington...

I suppose if he left we could go back in for van Nistelrooy. 😜

    Former players day

I took my dad to the Mahou lounge for his 80th birthday (home game vs Swansea). John Williams as the FPA guest of honour. He was a lovely, lovely bloke and was very kind to my dad. He admitted that his divided loyalties between Swansea and Cov meant he was hoping for a draw - which I understood...

Match Thread Who should play on Wednesday poll

Yesterday’s first goal was probably worse than the second. The main error was From Grimes who gave the ball away in precisely the manner and in exactly the place that we bought him to never give the ball away. That said Collins rushed miles off his line far too readily for *both* of the goals...

    Lampard red card

Especially when the ref had been bullied by The Bigger Boys from Burnley for 90+ minutes.

    PLEASE FRANK

Isn’t it weird that it only took us eight days to find a team to dislike more than Sheffield United?

    Worst ever referee?

    Zain Flemming.

    Worst ever referee?

Sam Parkin on Sky declared that it wasn’t even a foul - just merely the sort of block that happens for 90 minutes all over the pitch ! 😮

    Worst ever referee?

The ref was shocking but it wasn’t a corner. Simms never appealed for a corner and none of our team thought it was a corner until the Lino erroneously gave one.

    Summer Transfer Window

They’d give Leon Best and Simon Charlton a run for their money though.

    Coventry City 101 Greatest Goals

In the late 1987 the BBC brought out this video - 101 Greatest goals on MotD. I was bought it for Christmas. It finishes with just one goal from the 1987 FA Cup final… Clive Allen’s opener!

Eccles Injured for rest of the season

Pretty certain that Eccles is the only player to have featured as a starter or as a used sub in every single one of the games since Lampard became manager.

You can see it here. Took me a few rewinds to realise where to look.

Video FULL PRESS CONFERENCE | Haji Wright and Frank Lampard look ahead to Coventry City vs Sunderland 🎙️

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on the bench. We have a habit of not playing the player we put up for the press conference and playing EMC wide left seems integral to Lampard’s preferred system (esp without Rudoni).
