The problem is fans think a penalty is a given goal. It isn't. Penalties are not easy. Lots are missed even by world class players.
One thing that annoys me is when a keeper saves a penalty it still goes down as a miss.... No it was saved!
Let's face it when COH joined us we had hardly a sniff of quality for a long time. We had mainly been signing no hopers.
COH was a decent prospect, but fans over egged him and bigged him up and I under stand why. But w e have had a long list of far better midfield players at the club, and...
Lampard had not addressed the possible situation pre game then?
The captain leads and organized things on the pitch. But he doesn't pick the tactics, formation, who takes corners or throw ins, or for that matter penalty takers
If DK was right then a large section of our fan base was wrong. Especially as the January transfer window appeared on the horizon and what some were saying on here, the players we needed. Often 5-7 players required, which was ridiculous.
Surely the manager over rules the captain?
It depends what was agreed before the game. Also I think you would be surprised, even at this level it is who just grabs the ball and says I'm taking it!
I totally agree but so many fans look at the fixture list now and league positions and make simplistic predictions.
Middlesbrough last game of the season could be them or us. It could be a dead rubber for both clubs. I agree with your context ... and the nearer you get to the end of the season...
But Bidwell gets better crosses in when forward than DaSilva. Dasilva's problem is he seems weak defensively and in attack, he just doesn't take risks. Bidwell has good games in both areas. Dasilva at best just does okay. Okay today Bidwell had a poor game defensively but put some good ball...
It will ebb and flow. League positions and form mean nothing. It's one game at a time now. What we have done now means nothing. Any team getting into the play offs needs to be on a 3 or 4 game run. Go into it with momentum. Where your team has been all season means nothing.
Probably because player thought he could play on and thought he had just jarred it. It has happened to me and it can be quite a while before the pain really sets in, like several hours.
The problem is Derby, Plymouth, Luton and Hull will be fighting for their lives, so potentially not easy fixtures.
Just got to try and keep the winning form going.
It's the lack of cover when Bidwell pushes forward. It is about other players as much as the player at left back. You have to look at what EMC, Eccles Grimes and Kitching are doing at times as a unit not just what the left back is doing.
Hopefully just support while it settles down. Probably opened up the shoulder joint when scoring so there will be some bruising which will settle down quickly
