Leeds bringing over 4,000 allegedly despite only just over 2,000 tickets

We played them last game of season at least twice, maybe even three times, early/mid 90's. I wouldn't know about the one in 92. 93 or 94 I think we were 3-1 up in the last minute but they scored twice (possibly both by Rod Wallace), and yes I think Cov got chased off the pitch by the Leeds...

Leeds bringing over 4,000 allegedly despite only just over 2,000 tickets

Yes that was rough. I was specifically thinking of a Portsmouth fan who got "caught" in the East Stand..... can't remember if it was the same game or a year or two earlier.

Leeds bringing over 4,000 allegedly despite only just over 2,000 tickets

Whilst i wouldn't personally choose to jump up after a goal if i was an away fan in the City home end.... i don't think its any more "risky" than it was 25-30 years ago. I'm sure most people here have seen away fans literally get kicked down the stairs and out of the exits at Highfield Rd...

Leeds bringing over 4,000 allegedly despite only just over 2,000 tickets

It is a bit.... someone referred to 1996 earlier in the thread... which is incidentally when Leeds got a good kicking on the pitch last day of the season.

I've done a couple of 33 mile ultras in Yorkshire/South Pennines.... so probably quite similar to your Dartmoor race.... i think there was about 4500-5000ft climb in total. I think when its that short there's a tendency to go off a bit hard "oh its only a little bit more than a marathon"...

Leeds bringing over 4,000 allegedly despite only just over 2,000 tickets

Might sound rather callous of me, but i'd prefer the large away allocations over trying to squeeze in another couple of thousand City fans. Atmosphere generally (not always) better with a large away allocation, and makes our noisy support more up for it as well.

    Villa away...

Yeah I expect they were gutted they only won the European Cup in 1982 compared to our single fa cup win.

What are you doing and how far? I've done (i think) 12 ultras, but mostly on the mountains. And never more than 45 miles. Finished 8, dnf'd 4. My one attempt at a 104 mile Ultra was quite a spectacular dnf after about 30 miles. Only flat ones I've done are Coventry Way Ultra x2 (dnf'd first...

We had a club session last night. Seem to be in a prolonged run of every club night being abysmal weather. No exception last night with heavy rain and wind. A couple of miles jog to warm up, then a few drills in the Phantom Coach Car Park (attracting more than a few comments from the smoking...

Track session last night at Godiva/Warwick Uni track, in utterly foul conditions. Really wanted to atttack this and hit some good rep times, but the torrential rain and howling wind made it difficult. 8 x 400mtr reps with 2mins rests. Nice and simple, just bang them out as well as possible...

Mid 90s.... i'm pretty sure it was an xmas match, perhaps even boxing day. Also fairly sure it wasn't actually Pavarotti :D

The Wales game is the one i most specifically remember! Pretty sure i was sat in what was the Cov away end for that one (lower tier of Sky Blue Stand) towards the West End.... which was a bit of a novelty.

I did similar a while back.... heading to a pre-season away to Bristol Rovers, but the M5 and A46 were a right state, and it became apparent i couldn't make the kickoff. Diverted to Forest Green Rovers vs Wrexham.... where i watched Lee Hughes come on the pitch with about 10mins to go, then...

Their fans were absolutely brilliant. Loudest i've ever heard at Highfield Rd. I remember they had a massive striker (Karsten Jancker) and he ko'd some poor woman in the East Stand doing shooting practice in the warmup....

Midlands Road Relays tomorrow at Sutton Park. One of the best races of the year. All the local teams have at least one men's team running, and all the local teams except ourselves and Nuneaton have women's teams present (which is a shame as Godiva and Nuneaton are two of the stronger women's...

    My favourite goal

The quality of the goal itself. The quality of the opposition. And similar to last weekend, the fact that a couple of minutes beforehand, we had been 2-1 down.

    My favourite goal

I think saturday was our best moment since leaving the Premier League in 2001, considerably over-topping Manchester United away in 2006/7. And its probably up there in my top three with the two below.... However my favourite city goals are always likely to remain Huckerby 97 and Moldavan vs...
