The fact he said “sooner rather than later” could be seen as a signal to other teams he’s open to offers. He’s probably also at peak value so the club might think it’s time to cash in. However, I’d like to see him as captain and part of a major push for promotion over the next few seasons.

What does that mean? You think of something like the Leicester training ground it’s a huge multimillion pound thing. We’d need a vastly bigger site for a start, the land alone would cost a fortune. I assume the are more thinking a new building at Ryton?

A closed shop would kill off so much of the spirit of the game. Not saying it won’t happen but would be truly depressing.

No disagreement just making the point you could see how another fan base without being aware of all the context might view our attendances as nothing special in the L1/2 days.

In fairness some of the teams who have gone down to L1, L2 have kept much better attendances than we did but we were on a long slow death spiral with hated owners and boycotts.
