Match Thread Coventry City - Port Vale Match Thread - Saturday 9th Sep

Happy with the starting XI (obviously with the exception of Burge). McDonald and French Tony are going to be key players if we are going to compete this year. McNulty to make up for his bad fortune last week with a brace in a 2-1 win. Pope for Vale to make it 1-1. Duck to come off the bench and...

    Kwame to Sutton

Point taken and I hope he comes good. Kwame ended last season reasonably well. I think a lot had high hopes for him this year although his injury plagued pre season appears to have curtailed any chance of becoming first choice.

    Kwame to Sutton

Completely take that on board, I was merely stating it was a case of so far so bad (see above post). It's exactly the same as me giving rave reviews to Rod McDonald. The general consensus on here in 12 months time may be that he's actually shite. We just don't know how any of the 12 signings are...

    Kwame to Sutton

I think you'll find I said 'From what I've seen of Biamou'. Did I say that's it he's shite altogether, get rid now? Did I fuck. It was based on seeing every minute he's played for the team so far, including starts against Blackburn where he was woeful.

    CWR

Who is this guy presenting the phone in?! Pleasant surprise and not just because it isn't Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets.

    Kwame to Sutton

Agree with the concept of loaning him out, don't necessarily agree with him being the player deemed surplus. From what I've seen from Biamou we needn't have bothered signing him. Kwame a much better option for me personally.

    CWR

My 2 highlights this evening.... A text stating that it was time to bring back a man with League 2 experience; Slade A caller who bleated 'if cov are that big, why are they in league 2 and not the premiership?' Fair play to Clive, he cut him off after about 12 seconds.

    Useless football pundits on CWR

Clive and Linnell are a match made in hell.

    Chesterfield Highlights

Extended highlights here including Vincenti's 'goal'. Looks very close to me.

    Three out of Four

7 would be a good return. Vale at Home needs to be 3 points and you would hope that this is followed up by a win against Carlisle. Exeter are flying and carrying on from how they finished last season so I fear a defeat. Cambridge away certainly shouldn't be anything to fear despite last seasons...

    Turning point today.

Well that's your prerogative. And yes I do the same, praise is warranted where it is due. If we stick 4 past port vale next week then we will all be praising every single one of them. If I'd have been the only fan in that stand yesterday I'd have still booed. It was the feeling I wished to...

    Turning point today.

But my point is, if it's not good enough then why shouldn't the players and management be made aware of people's feelings? The very people who pay their wages and travel the length and breadth of the country to watch them play for the badge? All we want is success Nick. It's not as if we have...

    Turning point today.

No of course it wouldn't morally, because they are labelled as 'professionals' but it's only what they're thinking anyway. It's both the players and management who didn't do their jobs yesterday. Are you telling me that you didn't boo once at full time last season during the ridiculous amount of...

    Turning point today.

Ah this guy again. It's not a shit argument is it? I'm asking a question and no-one has been able to answer. If for instance we get tonked 5-0 to a team rock bottom of the table, what would you do? Clap them off presumably?

    Turning point today.

Alright chirpy, what's got up your nose this morning? No I honestly couldn't give a monkeys. People who had a problem with me booing for a few measly seconds as I walked down the steps yesterday, could've quite easily confronted me about it. It's not as if I made a beeline for the front of the...

    Turning point today.

Look, we are getting nowhere here. You are obviously as cool as a cucumber and applaud win, lose or draw. Sorry, but that's not me. It was heat of the moment yeah, it'll probably happen again in my lifetime. Doesn't mean I'm ashamed to do it or that I'm a c**t as you keep alluding to. Let's...

    Cov's obsession with...

Agreed. Was happy when he re-signed but he was non-existent and added nothing. McNulty was the one who seemed be going up for all of the aerial challenges when it really isn't his role to do so. Andreu needs to start every game from hereon in. His quality is a cut above.

    Turning point today.

No, telling them it wasn't good enough and discussing it. It would be just weird shouting wanker at someone (as the bloke did with Fisher at the train station). The thing is, booing players off - albeit very rarely - doesn't achieve anything, it purely just shows frustration. The players...

    Turning point today.

Stop whining like a little bitch. They had support from before the game up until the 96th minute. So yes, magnificent support. A small chorus of collective boo's after the game following a 3rd game without a goal, 4th game since victory, the failure to break down ten men against a side who have...
