    Sheaf and Hamer

They are about our two most talented players. I don’t know where the doubt otherwise is coming from. They’re just learning the league a bit.

Biamou still has lots to offer

Maybe it was the beers I was drinking but I didn’t think he offered much. However, him being there changed the shape and how Reading played which impacted the game a lot. I suspect if we’d lost the game everyone would be slating him for the same performance. Like I said, maybe it was the beers I...

Final point some awful decisions from the ref.

Much improved performance which will rightly do wonders for confidence and you could see what it meant to the players. I didn’t expect anything tonight but at least hoped we would play without fear and we didn’t. That said I think Readings current league position flatters them. They didn’t...

If that was the case he’d be worth double what we paid or more and we wouldn’t have him.

They looked like a team destined to finish 5th and not get through the play offs.

Agreed. Nowhere near the pressing or intensity of some teams we’ve played and their xG I think more reflects a bit of luck than ruthlessness.

I think engagement is the key issue, personally. There are ways to get the theory in but distance learning providers are delivering to motivated students who have chosen to learn. I assume that’s not the case for most school children.

I doubt there is any practical element that doesn’t have a good demonstration online already from something like The Open Uni or the numerous American universities offering courses online. Or is it the hands on skills you are concerned about? Using equipment etc?

You either teach the theory and demonstrate via video, teach what you can online and hope the practical aspects can be squeezed in later or students lose out on that practical teaching. What is the subject?

More reason to move online. I would have thought at least they could rig up a microphone and speaker though.

But isn’t the issue that (as shown by the El Pais article yesterday) that somebody projecting their voice across a room is the most effective transmission scenario and they are trying to prevent that? Same reason they won’t open theatres.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

This is where I think it stems from and why they can’t see it. They don’t associate themselves with the other types of antisemitism so think they aren’t, if that makes sense.

Of course something like that could have been developed. The internet is already a wealth of educational information. Like you say would have been relatively easy to have a national effort and a lot of the people who could have been involved producing it weren’t working at the time, like the...

Interesting. I don’t doubt there are challenges but there are numerous organisations delivering education remotely. The Open University is a national treasure. Why not hire them as consultants and get everything feasible online so there’s a back up and stuff for those students isolating to do...

It’s incredible the lack of preparation that went into opening schools and having a backup plan.
