Phew...glad that's over. Made a mediocre Oxford side look good at times. Defence was...not great. Attack was decent, and 3 goal + pen is a good haul. Didn't have confidence in Ellis on pen if i'm being honest...short run up and soft shot ensued. At least it's a win, and results went our way...

I think i'm right in saying that Sunderland have a Cat 1 academy (elite), and we have a Cat 2, so they will almost certainly attract better youth talent. It's something which Doug and Frank will surely want to pursue in the medium term.

Grimes is a box to box midfielder being asked to sit deep in this formation...he clearly wont be as effective until his instructions are changed. For what its worth, i though he did a decent, albeit unspectacular job today...i certainly don't remember him giving it away too often. Compare that...
