Especially someone like Rooney who is probably one of the most naturally gifted players this country has ever produced.

Odd refereeing display. Their 11 could have gone for two yellows way earlier in the game Same for one of their players who came on (Fawshaw maybe?) who blocked a quick free kick and was putting it about a bit and I think put in a few late heavy ones (may have been mistaken, how foggy was it).

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Thursday 26th Dec

Their determination to play out from the back started to annoy me by the end of the game, I couldn't grasp how Rooney or the players couldn't see that it was a tactic doomed to fail miserably which I think sums up Rooney as a manager. He is not tactically aware enough to keep a limited team up...

A lot of credit in the bank there, I don't think he'll be sacked anytime soon. That said, Manchester City could be in for a lean spell. That squad needs an overhaul basically from top to bottom.

    Expected Goals Against

Agreed. At a guess I'd say we're in the top 6 (good) but like you I think the xG doesn't tell the whole story. Our calamitous defending really has fucked us this season to date.

Manchester City's drop in performance is quite astonishing...

Lati had a game, he IMO has looked improved under Lampard. Way more combative.

Great result. Eccles man of the match for a complete midfield performance, ably abetted by Sheaf who had a very good game. EMC really is thriving under Lampard, looks unplayable at times. How shit was the ref?

I said that on the night. Personally I thought Usyk won but I was surprised at the unanimous decision.

The other obvious change was at LB and LCB. I don't think two up top would have worked the way we played the second half.

They were value for the win, 4 goals flattered them but they were better than us. That said, it's probably a different game if we don't concede the two soft goals in the first half. Having said that we looked like conceding at every corner so maybe not 🤷

Garbage. How many unforced errors do we make? Gutless.

    Recipe Thread.

I made something very similar at the weekend (recipe below). Cabbage and mince is great isn't it? I also made a Brexit version (below the recipe below) which follows the same basic method but is cheaper, probably. KAPUSKA 1 medium-size Savoy cabbage 5 tbsp rapeseed oil 350 g lamb mince 1...

    Things that annoy you

What Fernando says I think. We were at the Doctor's, all the messaging on the TV was basically saying get up the hospital if your short of breath/having difficulty breathing. Must be the first bad flu season since COVId.

Apparently it's fucking their breathing up apparently (my missus said this yesterday), no idea if it's true...

    Keepers going down feigning injury

Fair enough, I didn't realise that but it's all semantics isn't it? We can all see that these stoppages aren't for serious injuries can't we? These are player's deciding to take it upon themselves to sit down and start waving their arms to get the game stopped.

    Keepers going down feigning injury

Agreed. I think it's more of an issue in England than perhaps it is elsewhere. I recall the refereeing at the last few world cups to be far stronger in this regard, they were far more likely to wave play on.

    Keepers going down feigning injury

8+ seconds is what is being discussed now, no idea why they don't enforce the law that is already in place... The referees just need to grow a pair, there is no requirement for them to stop play unless it's a head injury. Why are they letting the players dictate the stoppages in the game?
