Average to shite. Toss up between Torp’s set pieces and Simms’ shooting for biggest bag of wank of the night. We improved second half but as always you look better when you’re two down and the oppo just sit back. Feels a while since we put in a good league performance over 90 minutes.

    Max joins the Vikings!

Don’t you remember him turning down a move to Chelsea to help us secure safety first season back up? Fair play to him for his move though.

    QF Draw

I am potentially after one for West Brom depending on the seat. Isn’t this the Wolves draw thread though? 🤔

Match Thread Coventry City - Maidstone United [FA] Match Thread - Monday 26th Feb

Job done. If Kelly is now fully fit I’d start him with Torp V West Brom. Don’t think we lose the midfield with those two in like we did Friday and Eccles needs to sit a few out, much as i rate him. Hopefully that kick starts Simms to be more clinical in the league. Needs service though. Would...

    5 at the back now

I think it will happen. Probably unfair to write Haji and Simms off as a front two based on the first few games given they’ve both progressed since then, albeit only very recently for Ellis. It could work yet. I’d probably rather that than Tavares RW. And we really need to sure up at the back...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

Yep, hence I expect to see the return of a back five / three with wingbacks.

Robins has to own that one

I think his best position may be DM in front of a back four with two or three central midfielders ahead of him.

    Our support vs Preston

The lights thing was embarrassing. Looked like a little mix concert. We‘ll be a laughing stock if that carries on.

Robins has to own that one

I think you can make a case for the starting 11 IF we‘re fluid, the pressing side and enjoying the lion‘s share of attacking play. That is where JDS is arguably the choice over Bidwell. But when we’re 2-0 down, haven’t got out our own half and JDS is being targeted time and time again after 20...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

Anyone know what the canal path is like after the latest deluge? Is it a case of just old trainers or will we need a dingy?

    Proud Sky Blues

There was a time when players suffered racism from teammates and management. This has largely (but not completely like any workplace, sadly) been solved by societal changes. Why wouldn’t the same apply to gay footballers being accepted at work? It needs a collective effort and things like Proud...

    Proud Sky Blues

Until such time male players can be openly gay without fear of discrimination then this stuff is fully valid and justified. End of discussion isn’t it?
