I know all that - but the decision was made to go ahead with it, despite knowing it couldn't be withdrawn, and despite the certain knowledge that Wasps would see it as a similarly existential thread to their security at the Ricoh as if they were being challenged directly. It's simply splitting...

    St Andrews

Oh sorry, I didn't submit to the standard groupthink of "we've been forced out of our ground (it was built for us, you know!") by a franchise rugby team and a local council who inexplicably wouldn't give us millions of pounds in stadium funding on a plate, for nothing in return.

SISU pursuing legal action regarding the Ricoh led to Wasps (not unexpectedly) decline to negotiate a lease agreement. Thus the decision to pursue the legals had a direct outcome of us leaving the Ricoh - in my view, playing at SA in the long run places a "glass ceiling" on our potential as a...

    St Andrews

I'd argue we're imposing a glass ceiling on ourselves by playing at SA. Unless you take a longer view that it's part of a strategy of denying Wasps revenue and thus making it more likely that they'll eventually sell tonus on the cheap and move back down south.

    A little perspective

Yep, meanwhile Arsenal are in 5th place in the Premier League and still their fans are moaning about their manager. Nothing changes.... perspective needed yes, but not round here!

    Robins comments on Hiwula

Maybe he's trying a bit of the old psychology, gee the lad up and all that

    January

I've given you a like for that even though it was basically the same joke as I did further up!

Nothing to say, no evidence to back it up, just a feeling!

Dave should have enough sense to say "no, I'm in my 50s. Although I am a club legend, I can't sit on the bench to make up the numbers....look what happened to Ken Dulieu!" On the subject of January, I have a sneaky feeling we'll be back at the Ricoh before that month is out.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

How has he taken that post out of context? He started by saying "I'm very frustrated that, despite managing this club for approaching 200 games, fans still mis-spell my name." Was MR implying Hiwula is a bit of a sicknote?

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

This has got me thinking - remember the "Fans Favourte XI" thread? We could have a "Impact Sub XI" thread or, even better, an "Imagined Impact Sub" thread, for players who were always thrown on to shake the game up but never did very much at all ....Kevin Thornton springs to mind in the latter case.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

Lack of goals clearly becoming a concern. Didn't think I would find myself wishing we had kept JCH! You know it's bad when you start Googling "Marcus Tudgay" to see if we could conceivably pick him up on a free

    Robins to Stoke?

A better version of this joke would have been to ask if disaffected Stoke fans were singing "Nathan Jones, you've stayed on too long" prior to him getting the chop.

    Robins to Stoke?

More to the point, how long until Stoke fans get nostalgic for this manager and then begin chants during games, aimed at the boardroom, saying "Nathan Jones, you've been gone too long!" I'll get my coat. Just thought I would save @Otis the bother of having to write that himself (which he...

OK thanks - I do think that it's harsh that they've issued a more severe punishment to him than to the two drivers!!!

Tell us more? What's the missing link that explains this? My reaction has been as other posters but do share if you know different.... Not now he's badly injured for 18 months he doesn't!!

    Gael biggy

It does show the demise of the likes of Newcastle and Rangers from where both clubs were 20 years ago, that this guy could be in the first team squads of both for a few seasons. He wouldn't have got near either club in the late 1990s.

Did you actually read what I wrote? You're quoting me and making an unrelated point.

    Peak Insanity Level Reached?

No, I said that the two incidents in question did no harm to anyone, and yet another poster described the incidents as harmful.
