I always thought Stuart Giddings' injury problems were a terrible shame. Looked a really fine player when he first made the breakthrough and had represented England at youth level.

Between 96-97 and 99-00 I can pretty much remember every game in detail thanks to the Season Review VHS's the club used to release. Once we got relegated from the PL, they seemed to stop producing them apart from 01-02 and 03-04.

I could see his main strength being in a central position arriving late in the box for crosses, but the position we have played him so far doesn't compliment that at all. Not sure we could even accommodate that role for him.
