Surprised by the team? Hamer not picked to start is a suprise against a hard physical Preston. dabo is a suprise giving it's first game at home. Wilson is understandable panzo or Doyle for me. I'm really not sure what to make of it. Allen for me is the weakest link as his contributions are energy but little else that ever affects a game. This is a risk by MR's given we need to get a win on the board. Looks to me like 5 subs will be used!

He is clearly leaving himself options from the bench. If we start the players he has been and it doesn’t work where does he turn to?

waghorn and Doyle looked tidy when they came on but I feel for palmer as he looked composed against hull
I know a lot of people have said this but I didn’t see it. Waghorn put a good corner in for the goal but otherwise no real influence; and I thought Doyle looked nervous and was massively out of position when Hull missed the one-on-one late on. Hope they both have blinders tonight obviously.

We were chasing the game tbf to Doyle. Waghorn was involved in a nice move that led to the corner we scored from, think also the move where Bidwell shot was cleared off the line.

Must say I didn't see that team selection coming. However this is the reality of where we are with a threadbare squad of players, several of which would struggle to get a start in most championship sides.

Hope the return to the CBA and the support of the SBA will make up the difference.

well let’s hope mark has seen something he likes. But it seems like he is not sure of his best team at the moment (defensively), a win is needed to settle the nerves I think.

Waghorn for Palmer I can understand. Need to ease Palmer into the team and Waghorn looked good when he came on for Sat.
I think he’s being careful with Dabo, hence Eccles getting the nod. Panzo was pretty average against Millwall and Hull, so Doyle gets his chance. Hamer not starting is a head scratcher. Wilson had to play after Moore’s numerous errors. So I can why he’s picked that team.

Well its an interesting selection. Guess we'll know in a couple of hours if it was a good idea or not.

Not convinced about punishing Hamer, a suspension and fine is surely enough. Not like we've got a squad overflowing with replacements.

I guess Robins can't keep picking Moore when he's making mistakes every game that cost us goals but Wilson isn't a long term solution so that's a worry. Moore really seems to have lost form since covid, wonder if there's some lasting damage but you'd expect the club to be on top of that kind of thing.

Going to have to hope Waghorn comes good, we clearly can't ship him out and he's on too much money to not play any part. Team tonight really does illustrate how much depth we lack in the squad.

I don’t see how COVID could explain the kind of mistakes Moore’s been making.

People assuming Hamer isn't playing as punishment, but could it be they want to lessen the risk of him getting injured with tomorrow's transfer deadline approaching?
