Hoping Eccles will surprise a few today, he’s going to be a great player if he can stay injury free.

Two up top is good to see aswell.

Not buying the whole O’Hare hamstring “tweak”. He’s either done his hamstring properly which is unbelievable considering he barely ever gets injured , or he is off to Burnley.

But we can only support the boys on the pitch , so come on lads!!

Barely ever gets injured doesn't necessarily mean that will be the case forever!

Given how regularly he gets kicked to bits and him very much being an all-action kind of player, I imagine his retirement age will end up being lower than a lot of other number 10s.

While I absolutely agree with you that no one is ever going to go the whole career injury free, he’s spent two years playing pretty much every game, getting kicked from pillar to post all over the pitch. Then the last kick of training on Friday , not at the beginning before he had warmed up, but at the end of the session, he does his hamstring back heeling a ball??

I am a cynical sod I admit , but it all just doesn’t add up for me.

I’d rather be told he’s not playing as we’ve accepted an offer from Burnley or whoever, than being lied to.

You can still get injured trying to overstretch regardless.

Completely different to being kicked.

Still sticking to my 3-0 prediction. Weaker or not we are still better than these lot, their team reeks of League 1 quality, with 2/3 championship players thrown in

Who told you have been lied to? The forum IDK says he's really been injured.

Bit concerned about a lack of dynamism and forward running in the wing backs, especially as it’s such a pivotal position on the he way we play.

Having said that Eccles is a very good footballer and while I’m not yet convinced by Bidwell, I’m hoping after a full pre season he comes good.

Confident if Sheaf and Hamer are on form they’ll comfortably run the game.

Hoping Taveres gets 20-30, purely as his pace offers something different, especially with that starting X1.

True, but this is the first game of the season and he hasn't had a chance to be kicked at which makes his absence even more strange considering how durable he is. Either he's going to Burnley or MR might be trying to outthink Sunderland's gameplan to nullify COH. Either way, just hope we have enough to win.

Oh I know, I was more talking in terms of minor traumas from past incidents etc - all play a part in how long you can remain injury free for. What seems like a minor knock people run off can cause issues later on.

or option 3 which is the most likely, he's injured
