Our fans are so weird when it comes to Sunderland

They still insist we cheated in 1977. They have never cheated though? I cant post the article for some reason, but have a look and search Sunderland AFC illegal payments. It was back in the days of players and a maximum wage.

Our ex player David Prutton (for a short time at least) has predicted a 1-0 win for Sunderland on the Sky website. Probably a sign of the one sided Sky coverage likely to come of this match. I'm certainly expecting this message board to be lit up with righteous indignation about the bias.

I'm annoyed at myself for falling down the rabbit hole of posting on here tbh, nevermind posting on another teams forum.

Sky will be slobbering all over sunderland , more than their fans slobber when they speak

Kevin Phillips will definitely be one of the pundits.

Don't think it's an outrageous prediction to be honest. They are at home and despite only finishing 5th were the form team in league one at the back end of last season. First game back in the Championship for them too, they will be up for it. Even if we lose don't think it will be a reflection on where the respective teams will finish this year.

Wilson, rose, tayo, Eccles, Palmer, waghorn, Godden

think that’s what he’ll do

Question mark for is if he will leave Doyle at home... Didn't sign just to be left out of the squad. Also think walker over Waghorn if anything

I don’t think we need 2 centre backs on the bench though mate, especially when bidwell can cover as well

Think he’ll score quite a few this season then?

Has the potential to but it's not necessarily that he'll be prolific, more that his overall game has so many good things to it, would be a great asset for a lot of teams at our level.

Another one who rejected Blackpool now too along with Brannagan yesterday.
Rumours are they pulled out of the Colby Bishop deal as they were convinced they were getting Simms. All is not right there.

Yeah, you've got to feel there is more to Midgley leaving than him just wanting to work with Steven Gerrard. These clubs desperate to get rid of an owner are so vulnerable to being taken on by somebody even worse, so you have to wonder....

I agree but I still don't see Doyle being left out. Potentially Rose misses out?
I
Yeah maybe, that won’t go down well. I never think he’s fully been convinced by rose

has great potential but prone to lapses in concentration and makes individual errors

Adebayo goal for Luton at home as an example

I think we'll lose. Going up will have got that monkey off their back, and their players could well play with more confidence and less fear... especially early on in the season. Don't underestimate what momentum and confidence can do for a side. Plus they're at home, big crowd, and surely a positive atmosphere.

We're at a time before they have a chance to lose a few, get crowd against them - worst time to play them. And early season games are often a bit random anyway.

So, that's my predicition and of course I hope I'm wrong ;) but our season ain't over if I'm not, either.

A lot depends how the game goes early on. If they score in the first 15 it could be a long 90 minutes but the atmosphere and intensity will fizzle out if it’s contained early or we score first

Will be a tough match in a hostile environment. Saw highlights of their match vs Accrington on Youtube and they looked very dangerous despite the defeat. Hopefully, their new signings this week have not had time to gel yet. Keeping the crowd quiet will be key and an early goal in our favour would be very welcome and will settle any nerves.
