17 Out of 26 Games Left? (1 Viewer)

Hi guys just a debate on the season ending we could or will have?

My title of this thread is based on us needing 17 (maybe 16) wins In the last 26 games to make the playoffs. This would be a 51 points and take us to a 76 total and this should do it. Only losing 9 games though so a very tall order.

Is this possible? Doubtful but stranger things have happened.

We've lost 5 out of the opening 20 games, so losing 9 out of 26 would have us in declining form from here on.

Our points average at the minute is 1.75 per game, extrapolated over the season it's 80 points.

I don't see why not if the squad stays fit. Also, our disciplinary record isn't that bad. However, looking a the current table though there is a two game gap to the four teams in front of us, and we are nine points (probably 4 games with our goal difference) off 6th. We would need a few breaks along the way for all of these teams to lose form at some stage. But you never know

Is this allowing for the 10 points ? Would the average be nearer to 2 points In reality?

We are making a few mistakes defensively, but can I point out something to most which might have remained oblivious:

We have taken 18 out of the last 30 (really should have been 22 out of 30n but throwing games away against Bradford and Crewe) we have the same form in the last 10 games as the top 2 and are only outdone on form by Preston and Brentford. If we keep picking up wins and eradicate the mistakes that are costing us cheap goals then hopefully we won't be to far away.

It's going to be very difficult, I think we'll miss out again. History tells us we'll need 74-75 points, so pretty much 2pts per game. We've averaged 1.75, which if we continue will leave us on 70.

We started the season 10 points off play offs, we're now 9 points off play offs, just 1 point better off than at this point last season.

I think we concede too many goals (similar to last season) which means we struggle to grind out results. I think we'll finished about 10th.

To stand any chance of getting in the top 6 we need to got on a streak of 6-7 wins in 8 games.

And TBF we would all have jumped off a cliff If anyone predicted such a positive outcome at the start of the season.

More than doable if this side stays together and is lucky with injuries. We'll need a bit more basic back up and a quiet January outwards for that to happen though.
