2 games to go (32 Viewers)

but they would be relying on us not beating Boro

As well as Bristol getting less than 2 points from now. If they lose v Leeds, they will also need a win against PNE who may also need a win to stay up.

Would you want to be in their position or ours?

I don’t think Sheff U would want to lose v Blackburn if they would then have to play them away days later.

Bristol are an interesting admission from that list, they have Leeds away so they are unlikely to get above 70 points.
We need to hope that Leeds want to and need to win to win the Championship!
For Leeds/Burnley (who have both been on the piss) and Sheffield United - it doesn't really matter if they lose games.

What I'm saying is that Wilder could rest players, leave a few challenges in on key players knowing full well they will be playing then again, as a flavoured opponent over two legs.
This is Chris Wilder.

Don't think it's a good idea to throw games. Losing affects confidence, proven by Sheff Utds abysmal run. Last thing you want going into a 2-leg shoot out.

Leeds and Burnley are separated by GD. Can't see either side not wanting to go up as champions. Just 2 games to go then a long break.

Can see Sheffield United trying to turn their loss of form around. They have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Not the form you want to take into the playoffs.

But if we beat either Luton or Middlesbrough no side below Middlesbrough will catch us.

They’re equal on points so both teams will be gunning to win the next game.

It does matter if Sheff U win or lose. Whilst it won’t impact their league position, they will still want to get promoted in the playoffs and playing an in form team like ourselves or Bristol away in the first leg isn’t an attractive proposition if they’ve ended the season with 4-6 losses since the remaining 7 games since March.

Playoffs is all about momentum and the lower ranked teams (5th and 6th), and generally the more in form teams, play the first leg at home which puts them at an advantage imo.

I'm calling it now that Bristol will pick up max 1 more point, and Millwall will lose at Burnley. So need to win either game to confirm top 6 spot.

If PNE get at least a point at home to Plymouth on Saturday, then they are safe, will be a meaningless game against Bristol on last day. So we could do with Plymouth winning to give them the jitters and needing a performance against Bristol

Problem is we need Luton to pick up some points to keep pressure on the cos of their goal difference…

Lol, and also we don't want Luton to pick up any points as it's us they are playing
I think we just need to focus on ourselves and not worry about anyone else, Beat Luton and I believe we are there

Basically, best case scenario we beat Luton. If we drop points, hope Preston lose because at least pressure on for them to pick up points against Bristol. Most likely scenario, everyone in the play off race loses.

Well, if the rumour is true that it will be Wilson in for Saturday, I will feel a lot better.

Doesn't make any difference whether people think Wilson is worse or not.

Collins clearly needs taking out of the firing line. Literally!
Yes, I really think we have a better chance with Wilson in goal. Obviously not seen him play for a while but I just think he won't be under anywhere near the pressure Collins will be under, and on his typical form he is good enough.

Not as simple as that though. If we beat Middlesbrough we finish above them agreed.no matter what happens in the next games.

If we beat Luton, Middlesbrough have to beat Norwich at home to stay in the race. But if they do they then have to beat us at our place to beat us on GD. If we get a point against Luton another point against Middlesbrough is enough but then we depend on the results of Blackburn and Millwall. But because of who they have to play I think 2 draws would be enough.

At least everything will be clear after our next game.

Plymouth have to win Saturday or they are gone. Their GD is so awful, so it's win at Preston, or they're down, pretty much

It will be double standards with the fans tho. Say Wilson drops a clanger it will be excused as being rusty. Collins does the same thing and its any number if insults or abusive comments

Don’t worry I’ll make sure to give him pelters if it happens.
