Bit of a rogue one and potential not one to go straight in the team but how about Ruben Rodrigues at Notts County? Young Portuguese lad signed from the Dutch second tier last summer, taken a while to get going but looks comfortably above that level. Have seen him a few times and he’s looked very decent.

Good suggestion. I’d say at 24 he would need to be coming straight into first team squad and it’s a huge jump from non league to champ

I think he would slot into every team in the league. As much as I would like it to happen I'd file it under unlikely.

I think he will go to one of the big boys in portugal. Crazy he’s been left out of the Scotland squad but the likes of Paterson from Wednesday have gone.

Any validity to that account? Says he's the son of a football agent...John Harriots the dad, isn't he?

Not a rumour, just a suggested name - Nathanael Ogbeta. 20 year old left wing back. Came through Man City's academy but joined Shrewsbury on an 18 month deal in Jan. Meant to have been excellent.

I'd be uncomfortable going into the season with just 2 20 year old LWBs

That’s what we did last season though with Giles and McCallum?
We did and Giles didn’t play and subsequently left and we were left desperate for another option to rest McCallum for a long period in the winter. I’d prefer to have someone with a bit more experience in there this year.

Phil Foden is 20 would you be uncomfortable with him ?
20 year old playing Shrewsbury = 20 year old playing for Man City and England = 20 year old playing for The Red Lion.

I’m very smart.

But that's exactly the point you are making... you are objecting to his age, not his ability. Experience just means you've been doing it for some time. I prefer ability over age.

I’m not advocating just for age but experience. If there is a 20 year old left back that has played well in 50 championship games then get them through the door. We have the younger prospect, I feel we need experience of the league on the side of the pitch we were weakest last season.

Ogbeta looks a real talent, my concerns over him are his inexperience & mentality.

He was let go by Man City over his attitude, stating he didn't like how structured the team was & felt he was being pigeon holed as a LB/LM & wanted to play in Central Midfield & be one of the most creative players.
Admits he's enjoying life at Shrewsbury because he's just allowed to play with freedom. Can't see that being particularly acceptable to a manager like MR.

The amount of in depth work you know on these players is brilliant Frostie I’m starting to believe your Mr Badlan himself on here 😎😎

Have a feeling we will be competing with Bristol City to sign Matty James- they've just freed up alot of wages also..

One of the Cov connected players who never seems to get linked with us is Jordan Graham, who I think would be a lot better signing than many of those that have been like Collins. I guess as a winger he wouldn't fit into MR's gameplan, but pretty sure he will end up signing with a Championship side this Summer.
